22 min read
Applications for the September 2027 intake opened on 1 November 2026 at Pilsen, Olomouc and LSMU. Deadlines, entrance exams, fees in rupees, documents and a month-by-month timeline for Indian students.

The MBBS in Europe September 2027 intake is the admission season for six-year English-taught medicine degrees that begin in September 2027. Applications opened on 1 November 2026 at Charles University in Pilsen, Palacky University Olomouc and LSMU Kaunas. Pilsen closes on 30 April 2027, LSMU on 6 July and Olomouc on 31 July 2027. Tuition runs from about EUR 12,500 to EUR 16,000 a year, roughly Rs. 13.3 lakh to Rs. 17.1 lakh.
Key takeaways for the September 2027 intake in Europe
Three English-taught General Medicine programmes opened their 2027 application windows on 1 November 2026: Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Palacky University Olomouc and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU). All three award a six-year degree equivalent to MBBS.
The earliest deadline is Pilsen on 30 April 2027. Olomouc gives you until 31 July 2027 and LSMU until 6 July 2027, but non-EU applicants are told by Olomouc to sit the exam by May because the residence permit can take up to three months.
Tuition for 2027 is 390,000 CZK a year at Pilsen (about EUR 16,040, or Rs. 17.1 lakh), EUR 12,500 at Olomouc (about Rs. 13.3 lakh) and EUR 12,800 at LSMU for years one to three (about Rs. 13.6 lakh), at the European Central Bank reference rates of 4 November 2026 (EUR 1 = Rs. 106.6, CZK 1 = Rs. 4.39).
None of the three asks for NEET as an entry condition. LSMU accepts a NEET score of 650 or more as an exemption from its own entrance test. You still need to qualify NEET for your degree to count in India under NMC rules.
Entrance exams test Biology and Chemistry everywhere, with Physics added at Pilsen and Physics or Mathematics at Olomouc. Pilsen sits in person on 26 May or 28 June 2027, Olomouc and LSMU test online.
Which European medical universities opened applications on 1 November 2026?
Three universities opened their September 2027 application windows on 1 November 2026, and each one publishes its dates on its own admissions page. The table below puts those dates side by side so a family can see the whole season at once. Figures were last checked on 4 November 2026.

Which other European medical schools open for September 2027 in the coming weeks?
The three universities above are the first of the season. Several others publish 2027 windows that open between November 2026 and January 2027, and a family planning the year should see them together.

What does the September 2027 intake timeline look like for an Indian student?
An Indian applicant runs two calendars at once in 2027: the European admission season and the Indian board and NEET season. The table below lays them over each other so that nothing lands in the same week by surprise. The NEET 2027 date is not announced yet; NEET 2026 was held on 3 May 2026 and re-held on 21 June 2026, so a May date is the pattern to plan around.
Month | What happens | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
November 2026 | Pilsen, Olomouc, LSMU, Prague First and Second Faculty, Pecs and RCSI open | Create your account on each portal, upload Class 10 and Class 11 marksheets, start the apostille of your Class 10 certificate |
December 2026 to January 2027 | Szeged opens on 1 December; Masaryk opens on 2 January; LSMU tests start on 12 January; RCSI closes on 15 January; Masaryk India sitting on 30 January | Pay application fees; book an early online test if you want a Lithuanian offer before your boards |
February to March 2027 | CBSE and state board exams; Pecs weekly exams start 3 March | Keep applications complete; do not book a European exam inside your board exam weeks |
April 2027 | Pilsen, Prague First and Second Faculty close on 30 April; Second Faculty New Delhi sitting on 2 April | Submit every Czech application before the deadline; register for your exam date |
May 2027 | NEET 2027 expected; Pilsen regular exam 26 May | Sit NEET; sit Pilsen or an online exam at least a week away from NEET; the NTA mock tests for NEET 2027 double as Biology and Chemistry practice for the European papers |

September 2027 | Classes begin; LSMU starts on 1 September with a registration week before it | Arrive with your visa, insurance and tuition receipt |
Who is eligible for the September 2027 intake at Pilsen, Olomouc and LSMU?
All three accept a completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and none of them sets a minimum percentage. Pilsen asks for a completed secondary education with a school-leaving examination, which an Indian Class 12 board certificate satisfies. Olomouc asks for A-levels or their equivalent in three subjects and states plainly that it has no grade requirement and that you may apply before your results are out. LSMU asks for a school-leaving certificate and transcripts that show you completed Biology and Chemistry.
The only exam-based exemption is at LSMU, where a NEET score of 650 or more replaces the entrance test. Neither Czech faculty mentions NEET at all. That is the European side. On the Indian side, the National Medical Commission's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 require a student who wants to practise in India to have qualified NEET in the year they went abroad, to study a course of at least 54 months taught in English, to complete a 12-month internship, and then to sit the FMGE, the screening exam a foreign medical graduate passes before registering in India. Our guide on which NMC rules apply to you walks through each condition. Plan to sit NEET 2027 even where the university does not ask for it.
Do you need IELTS or TOEFL for MBBS in Europe in 2027?
Not at Pilsen. The faculty states that no specific document of English proficiency is required, because the whole entrance exam is in English. Olomouc asks non-native speakers for one of Cambridge FCE, IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 87, PTE Academic 59 or its own English test, and exempts anyone whose school education was in English, which covers CBSE, ISC and most state board English-medium schools. LSMU lists IELTS above 5.5, PTE Academic 55 to 67, Duolingo 95 or any certificate at B1 level, and lets applicants without a certificate sit its own English test after the entrance exam. A student from an English-medium Indian school can therefore apply to all three without booking IELTS, and should keep the school's medium-of-instruction letter ready for Olomouc.

What is in the entrance exams for the September 2027 intake?
Each university sets its own paper, and the structure decides how you prepare between now and May.
University | Subjects | Format | Pass rule | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Pilsen | Biology, Chemistry, Physics | 60 questions, 20 per subject, one correct answer each, 1 point per question, no negative marking | At least 9 points in each subject plus an overall total set by the Dean; in 2026 the faculty admitted 99 of 298 applicants | In person in Pilsen on 26 May or 28 June 2027, or through agency sittings abroad; the faculty's table lists India with the date to be announced |
Olomouc | Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics | Written test taken online; sample papers and a topic list are on the faculty site | Not published; once per academic year | Online, dates to be posted by the end of 2026 |
LSMU | Biology and Chemistry | Multiple choice, 30 questions per subject, 90 minutes, after a short motivational interview held a few days earlier | Result the next day as Offer, Waiting list or Failed; a NEET score of 650 or above exempts you from the test | Online between 12 January and 15 July 2027, or in Kaunas during open days |
Pilsen's no-negative-marking rule means you answer every question. LSMU's interview is not a formality: missing it cancels your test slot. The NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks cover the Biology and Chemistry asked at all three, and the guide to MBBS entrance exams in Europe shows past question styles subject by subject.
How much does the MBBS in Europe September 2027 intake cost in rupees?
The table below uses the European Central Bank reference rates of 4 November 2026 (EUR 1 = Rs. 106.6, CZK 1 = Rs. 4.39). Tuition at Pilsen and Olomouc is published for the 2027/28 year; LSMU's page states its figures for 2026/27 and the 2027/28 rate follows in the new year. Hostel figures for the Czech faculties are the universities' per-night rates multiplied by 30, which is our arithmetic, not a published monthly fee.
Cost item | Pilsen | Olomouc | LSMU |
|---|---|---|---|
Tuition per year | 390,000 CZK (about Rs. 17.1 lakh) | EUR 12,500 (about Rs. 13.3 lakh) | EUR 12,800 for years 1 to 3, EUR 13,300 for years 4 to 6 (about Rs. 13.6 lakh and Rs. 14.2 lakh) |
Tuition for six years | 2,340,000 CZK (about Rs. 1.03 crore) | EUR 75,000 (about Rs. 80 lakh) | EUR 78,300 (about Rs. 83.5 lakh) |
Fees before admission | 990 CZK application; 1,050 CZK document assessment if admitted | EUR 80 application; no exam fee | EUR 150 application; EUR 250 registration after the offer |
Deposit | None | None published | Half of the first year's tuition for non-EU students, about EUR 6,400 (Rs. 6.8 lakh), counted towards fees |
University hostel | 138 CZK a night in a double en-suite room at Bolevecka, about 4,140 CZK a month (Rs. 18,200) | 131 CZK a night in a double, about 3,930 CZK a month (Rs. 17,200); housing guaranteed for international students for the whole course | EUR 81 to EUR 250 a month depending on the dormitory (Rs. 8,600 to Rs. 26,700) |
Funds to show for the visa | At least 120,000 CZK (about Rs. 5.3 lakh) in a bank confirmation | Same Czech rule | At least EUR 6,918 (about Rs. 7.4 lakh) in a bank statement from 1 January 2026 |
How tuition is paid | Full year in one payment, received at least one working day before enrolment | First year before registration day, later years within a month of term start; two instalments by arrangement with a EUR 200 supplement | Deposit and tuition after signing the study contract; later years by 25 October and 20 March |
Pilsen's tuition is the highest of the three but it is tax-free and fixed in Czech crowns, so a family paying from rupees watches the CZK rate rather than the euro. The Czech Republic MBBS fees guide and the Lithuania MBBS fees guide compare these figures with the other faculties in each country, and the tuition fees overview lists every partner university on one page.
Which documents do you need for a September 2027 application?
Gather these before the portals fill up in spring. India is a Hague Apostille country, so every school certificate is apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs through an outsourced centre, not legalised at an embassy.
Passport valid well beyond September 2027, scanned in colour.
Class 10 certificate and marksheet, apostilled, for the age and schooling record.
Class 12 certificate and marksheet, apostilled, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology shown. Olomouc and LSMU let you apply with Class 11 marks and upload Class 12 later; Pilsen needs the apostilled hard copy by 31 August 2027.
Transcripts or a school letter showing Biology and Chemistry were studied, which LSMU asks for separately.
English evidence: a medium-of-instruction letter from your school for Olomouc, or an IELTS, PTE or Duolingo certificate if your school was not English-medium.
Motivation letter and one 3 by 4 cm photograph for LSMU.
Application fee receipt, which every portal asks you to upload.
For enrolment at Pilsen: a medical fitness certificate issued within six months, and proof of hepatitis B and measles vaccination.
For the visa: a bank confirmation of 120,000 CZK for the Czech Republic or EUR 6,918 for Lithuania, health insurance for at least a year, and for Lithuania a police clearance certificate under six months old with an apostille.

How do you apply, step by step, for the 2027 intake?
Pilsen: open the Charles University online application at is.cuni.cz, choose General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, submit by 30 April 2027, pay 990 CZK by bank transfer with "Entrance exam fee" and your name in the note, sit the exam on 26 May or 28 June 2027, then post the apostilled Class 12 certificate to the faculty by 31 August 2027 and pay tuition before enrolment in July or September 2027.
Olomouc: open the Palacky University study catalogue, choose General Medicine in English, upload your documents, pay EUR 80 online, and register for an online exam date at least two weeks after your application is complete. Non-EU applicants should pick a date no later than May 2027 because the residence permit can take three months.
LSMU: create an account at apply.lsmuni.lt, pay EUR 150, submit the application with documents, receive feedback within 72 hours, attend the online motivational interview and then the 90-minute Biology and Chemistry test, accept the offer letter, pay the EUR 250 registration fee, e-sign the study contract, pay the deposit and tuition, and apply for the temporary residence permit through MIGRIS or VFS Global.
Each portal lets you apply once per year to a given programme, so one careful application beats a rushed one. The Charles University application guide covers the SIS portal screen by screen.
What happens after the entrance exam, and what if you fail it?
Pilsen publishes an exam result and then admits applicants above the Dean's cut-off; you confirm your place in the window from 1 May to 30 June 2027 and enrol in July or September. LSMU tells you the next day whether you have an offer, a waiting list place or a fail. Olomouc sends a decision after its exam date.
If you fail, the rules differ. Pilsen allows no retake in the same academic year, and Olomouc allows the exam once per academic year, so a Czech fail in May means the next chance is the 2028 intake unless you sit the other faculty's exam. LSMU allows one sitting per application, and its deadline of 6 July 2027 leaves room to apply to LSMU after a Czech result. Masaryk tests non-EU applicants only between January and April, so a student who misses that window turns to Olomouc, whose deadline is 31 July. Sequencing the exams, LSMU first in January, then Pilsen in May, then Olomouc in June or July, gives three independent attempts in one season.
How does the visa or residence permit work for a September 2027 start?
The Czech Republic issues a long-term visa for study, and the Czech Embassy in New Delhi lists the study visa documents: the admission letter, proof of accommodation, proof of funds of at least 120,000 CZK, health insurance and a police clearance certificate. Pilsen enrols non-Schengen students only when the one-year student visa is in the passport, so apply the week your admission letter arrives. Lithuania uses a temporary residence permit applied for through the MIGRIS portal, with a university mediation letter, a bank statement of EUR 6,918 or more, insurance for a year and an apostilled police certificate, and the LSMU residence permit leaflet for 2026 gives the state fee as EUR 160 for a two-month decision or EUR 320 for a one-month urgent decision. The student visa guide for MBBS in Europe compares the consulate steps country by country.

Is MBBS from Pilsen, Olomouc or LSMU recognised in India in 2027?
All three universities are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and teach the full six-year course in English, which satisfies the NMC's duration and language conditions. The degree is the MUDr. in the Czech Republic and the Master of Medicine at LSMU, and a graduate registers in India after passing the FMGE, the screening test the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences holds for foreign medical graduates. Graduates who prefer to stay in Europe sit the local licensing route, and our guide to a medical licence in Europe after MBBS explains each country's steps. The Czech Republic country page and the Lithuania country page hold the full university lists, and the Pilsen, Olomouc and LSMU pages on this site hold the campus detail.
A worked example: one family's 2027 application season
For example, take Aarav. He is in Class 12 at a CBSE school in Pune and wants to start medicine in Europe in September 2027.
In November 2026 his father creates accounts on the Pilsen, Olomouc and LSMU portals and uploads the Class 10 and Class 11 marksheets. They pay the three application fees, about Rs. 29,000 in total.
In January 2027 Aarav sits the LSMU interview and test online, two weeks before his pre-boards, and gets an offer the next day. The family does not pay the deposit yet because the Czech results are still ahead.
He writes his boards in February and March, submits the Pilsen application before 30 April, and sits NEET in May. On 26 May he flies to Pilsen for the written exam, answering all 60 questions because there is no negative marking.
In June the Pilsen result comes with an admission. The family pays 390,000 CZK before the July enrolment, confirms dormitory interest by 15 July, and applies for the Czech long-term visa at VFS in Mumbai the same week. The apostilled Class 12 certificate goes by courier to Pilsen in early August.
Three things to notice from Aarav's case. An early LSMU offer in January removed the pressure from everything after it. Keeping NEET and the Pilsen exam three weeks apart meant neither suffered. And starting the apostille in November, not June, is what let the hard copy reach Pilsen before 31 August.
