Academic Excellence

Why Study MBBS in Lithuania?

A globally recognised, English-taught MD in a safe, affordable Baltic EU country with two long-established medical universities.

EU-Recognised Degrees

Lithuania is an EU member, so the MD is recognised across the EU under Directive 2005/36/EC and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, alongside NMC eligibility for India.

Affordable EU Education

Tuition of roughly €12,600-€15,000 per year and living costs of about ₹40,000-₹65,000 per month make Lithuania one of the more affordable EU destinations for English-taught medicine.

Safe Baltic Country

Lithuania scores 1.558 on the 2025 Global Peace Index (in line with its Baltic neighbours), everyday crime is low, and Kaunas and Vilnius are calm, student-friendly cities.

Long Academic Tradition

Vilnius University, founded in 1579, is the oldest university in the Baltics, and LSMU is one of the region's largest health-sciences universities, both with modern simulation centres.

English-Medium MD

The six-year MD programme is taught entirely in English, so no Lithuanian is needed to complete the degree, though basic Lithuanian helps in clinical placements.

Strong Clinical Training

Both universities are attached to large teaching hospitals in Kaunas and Vilnius, giving students hands-on clinical exposure from the clinical years onward.
