Important: MBBS in Russia is a direct-entry programme after Class 12, taught in English, but students learn Russian during the course for clinical interaction with patients. The six-year course includes clinical rotations and internship, and progression is governed by university and Ministry examinations before the degree is awarded.

Academic Qualification
Students must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, and must have qualified NEET-UG, which the NMC makes mandatory for Indian students studying medicine abroad.

Age Requirement
Candidates must meet the following criterion at the time of admission:
- Minimum age 17Applicants must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the year of admission, with a passport valid for at least 18 months.
Entrance & Application Requirements
Indian applicants must have a valid NEET-UG result; Russian universities admit on Class 12 marks and NEET score, with no separate entrance test or IELTS / TOEFL.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, mandatory for Indian students and required for later FMGE eligibility.
Class 12 Merit + Invitation Letter
Admission is offered on Class 12 marks and NEET score; the university issues an official invitation letter (sanctioned by the Russian authorities) used for the visa. No IELTS / TOEFL is required.
For Students Planning to Return to India: NEET-UG is required before admission because the NMC makes it compulsory for Indian students abroad. Under the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations 2021, the course must be at least 54 months, English-medium, and completed (including internship) at the same institution in the same country, after which you must clear the FMGE to practise in India.

Study Visa
Student Visa Overview
Indian students study in Russia on a student visa issued on the basis of an official invitation letter that the university obtains from the Russian authorities. The visa is typically issued within about 10–15 working days of a complete application.
Accept your offer; the university applies for and issues an official invitation letter sanctioned by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is required for the visa.
Arrange your NEET scorecard, Class 10 and 12 certificates, passport (valid 18+ months), passport photos and a medical fitness report including an HIV test.
Submit the student-visa application with the invitation letter and documents to the Embassy / Consulate of Russia in India.
Pay tuition only by direct bank transfer to the university's verified account (never a consultant's), as sanctions can affect transfers.
Receive the single-entry student visa (usually valid about 90 days for entry), which is converted to a multi-entry residence / student visa after arrival.
Travel to Russia, complete migration registration within the required window, undergo the on-arrival medical check and extend the visa annually for the study period.

How to Practise
Your Path After MBBS in Russia
After MBBS
Finish the six-year MBBS at a WDOMS-listed, FMGL-compliant Russian university, including the clinical rotations and internship.
Receive your medical degree and have your documents attested for use abroad.
To practise in India, qualify the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NExT is deferred and not yet in force).
After clearing the screening exam and completing any required internship, register with the National Medical Commission and your State Medical Council in India.
Compete for a PG seat through NEET PG (NExT is deferred and not yet in force) in India, or pursue residency (ordinatura) training in Russia.
Alternatively, prepare for licensing exams such as the USMLE (USA) or PLAB (UK) to train abroad.
Start clinical practice or enter a residency / PG training programme in your chosen specialty.
