Czech Republic MBBS fees for the 2027 intake at Charles, Masaryk and Palacký: yearly tuition, application fees, payment rules and scholarships. Plan ahead.

Czech Republic MBBS fees for the English-taught General Medicine degree are 380,000 to 440,000 Czech crowns (CZK) a year at Masaryk University and at Charles University's Third Faculty and Pilsen faculty, 12,500 euros a year at Palacký University in Olomouc, and 24,250 euros a year at Charles University's First Faculty in Prague. One-time fees are small, and every faculty publishes its numbers openly.
This guide puts the Czech Republic MBBS fees of five medical faculties side by side, straight from their own pages: the First Faculty of Medicine and the Third Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, the Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno and the Faculty of Medicine of Palacký University Olomouc. You'll see what you pay before you arrive, how you pay it, and where you can pay less.
Key Takeaways
- Three faculties bill in crowns, two in euros. Masaryk charges 380,000 CZK a year, Pilsen 390,000 CZK and the Third Faculty 440,000 CZK; Palacký charges 12,500 euros and the First Faculty 24,250 euros.
- Application fees are small. Palacký asks 80 euros with no further exam fee, Pilsen 2,050 CZK in total for 2027/2028, and the First Faculty listed 285 euros for 2026/2027.
- The 2027 cycle has started. Palacký and the Third Faculty open applications on 1 November 2026, and Masaryk takes e-applications from 2 January to 31 July 2027.
- Top students can halve their fees at Masaryk. Its Dean's Merit Scholarship cuts tuition by 50% for the next semester from the third semester on.
- Earlier intakes kept their rate in Pilsen. Its fee table still charges students admitted in 2021/2022 the 300,000 CZK of their intake year.
What are the Czech Republic MBBS fees at each faculty?
Each faculty sets its own Czech Republic MBBS fees, so the five schools quote different amounts and two different currencies. All five teach a six year General Medicine programme in English, and the table shows the published tuition next to the cycle the page applies to.
| Faculty | City | Tuition as published | Per year | Page applies to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Charles University, First Faculty of Medicine | Prague | 24,250 euros a year | 24,250 euros | Admission 2026/2027 (2027/2028 page not yet out) |
| Charles University, Third Faculty of Medicine | Prague | 440,000 CZK per academic year | 440,000 CZK | Current page, applications from 1 November 2026 |
| Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen | Pilsen | 390,000 CZK per academic year | 390,000 CZK | Dean's Measure No. 3/2026, tuition for 2026/2027 |
| Masaryk University, Faculty of Medicine | Brno | 380,000 CZK per academic year | 380,000 CZK | Admission 2027/2028 |
| Palacký University, Faculty of Medicine | Olomouc | 12,500 euros a year | 12,500 euros | Current page, September 2027 intake |
You can read each figure on the official page: the First Faculty admission page, the Third Faculty General Medicine page, the Pilsen dean's measure on fees, the Masaryk admission information page and the Palacký General Medicine page.
Why do Czech Republic MBBS fees for English-taught medicine exist at all? The Czech government's Study in Czechia scholarships and finances page explains that study is tuition-free at public universities when you study in Czech, while foreign-language programmes charge a fee. It gives 8,000 to 25,000 euros a year as the typical range for medicine, and all five faculties above sit inside that band.
For a closer look at each campus, see our pages on the First Faculty, the Third Faculty, the Pilsen faculty, Masaryk University and Palacký University.
How much is six years of tuition in the Czech Republic?
Six years of tuition comes to about 2.28 to 2.64 million CZK at the three crown-billing faculties, 75,000 euros at Palacký and 145,500 euros at the First Faculty. These are our own multiplications of the published Czech Republic MBBS fees, so treat them as a planning figure, not a quote.
Here's how six years of Czech Republic MBBS fees work out, faculty by faculty:
| Faculty | Six year tuition (our sum) | How we got it |
|---|---|---|
| Masaryk University, Brno | 2,280,000 CZK | 6 years x 380,000 CZK |
| Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen | 2,340,000 CZK | 6 years x 390,000 CZK |
| Third Faculty, Prague | 2,640,000 CZK | 6 years x 440,000 CZK |
| Palacký University, Olomouc | 75,000 euros | 6 years x 12,500 euros |
| First Faculty, Prague | 145,500 euros | 6 years x 24,250 euros |
How do you compare a crown fee with a euro fee? You'll pay in rupees either way, and the rupee moves differently against each currency. Convert both at the rate your bank quotes on the day you compare, and repeat it before each payment, because over six years the gap can shift.

Will your yearly fee stay the same for six years?
The Pilsen fee table gives the clearest answer. Dean's Measure No. 3/2026 lists a separate General Medicine fee for each intake year: students admitted in 2021/2022 pay 300,000 CZK, students admitted in 2022/2023 pay 350,000 CZK, and later intakes pay 390,000 CZK. In other words, earlier students kept the rate of the year they started, even after the fee for new students rose.
That's good news for planning, because the fee you see when you're admitted is the one you build your budget on. The other four faculties don't state a rule like this on the pages we read, so ask each one in writing whether your Czech Republic MBBS fees stay fixed for your whole course. Pilsen's measure also shows the one fee nobody wants: a separate charge if your studies run more than a year past the standard length, which you avoid simply by staying on track.
What do you pay before your first lecture?
Before your first lecture you pay an application fee and, at some faculties, a small administrative fee. These one-time Czech Republic MBBS fees are a tiny share of the total, but they come first, so plan them early.
| Faculty | Application fee | Other one-time fees | Application window |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Faculty, Prague | 285 euros (2026/2027 cycle) | None listed | 2026/2027 cycle ran from 1 December 2025; 2027/2028 not yet published |
| Third Faculty, Prague | Not listed on the programme page | None listed | From 1 November 2026 |
| Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen | 1,000 CZK (2027/2028) | 1,050 CZK admission assessment fee | Check the faculty's admission pages |
| Masaryk University, Brno | Not listed on the admission page | 990 CZK recognition fee before enrolment | 2 January to 31 July 2027 |
| Palacký University, Olomouc | 80 euros, no further exam fee | None listed | 1 November 2026 to 31 July 2027 |
A few details make these one-time fees easier to plan:
- First Faculty won't let you sit the entrance exam until the application fee is paid.
- Masaryk keeps a 25,000 CZK cancellation fee if a student pays tuition and then doesn't enrol, so pay only when you're sure.
- Palacký sets your deadline two weeks before the exam date you choose, and says its 2027 exam dates and venues will be posted by the end of the year.
- Masaryk lets non-EU applicants sit the exam from January to April, and exceptionally in May.
Masaryk's written exam has three multiple choice tests in Chemistry, Biology and Physics, each with 40 questions and 50 minutes, and General Medicine needs 60% to pass. Our guide to the MBBS entrance exam in Europe explains how to prepare, and how to apply for Charles University walks through the Charles application step by step.
How are the fees paid?
Czech Republic MBBS fees are paid to the faculty, usually by bank transfer, and the details differ from school to school:
- Masaryk lets you pay tuition in two instalments, one per semester. Its account is in Czech crowns, and non-EU students can pay in euros or their local currency through the Convera platform, which the university says charges no international transaction charges. The payment deadline is printed on the invoice that comes with your admission documents.
- Third Faculty sets 30 October as the tuition deadline and accepts a bank transfer to the university account or a card payment at its Study Division office.
- Palacký takes its 80 euro administrative fee online.
Two of our guides make the money side simpler. Education remittance for MBBS in Europe explains how an Indian bank sends the fee abroad, and education loans for MBBS abroad covers borrowing.

Which scholarships can lower Czech Republic MBBS fees?
The biggest saving we found is at Masaryk University. Its General Medicine page describes a Dean's Merit Scholarship that reduces tuition by 50% for the following semester. Students qualify once they've completed the requirements to enrol in the third or a higher semester, with a cumulative grade average of 1.0, no failed or missing grades and no unpaid fees to the faculty. Eligibility is checked again every semester, so strong results keep paying off.
Masaryk also lists an accommodation scholarship for foreign students, and its tuition fees and financial aid page names further options such as Czech government scholarships and Erasmus+ Master loans. At Palacký, the faculty says housing is guaranteed for all international students throughout their studies, which takes one big worry off the first year.
Our overview of scholarships for MBBS abroad covers other routes.
What should you budget beyond tuition?
Czech Republic MBBS fees are only one part of the budget. Masaryk's admission page reminds foreign students that they cover tuition, books, accommodation and meals themselves, and the Study in Czechia page lists accommodation, food, transport, health insurance and everyday expenses as the items to plan for. It also confirms that international students can work while studying in Czechia, which helps a little with the living side.
The Third Faculty runs a five month premedical course from January to May for 125,000 CZK. It's optional and separate from tuition, and it's built to prepare you for the General Medicine entrance exam in biology, chemistry and physics.

How do you plan your Czech Republic MBBS fees step by step?
Plan your Czech Republic MBBS fees in a fixed order: exam first, then the shortlist, then the money. Here's the sequence we suggest.
- Check where you stand for NEET first. NEETsheet explains the NEET qualifying marks and the NEET 2027 eligibility criteria, and its post on the NEET 2027 exam date helps you line up your timetable with the Czech entrance exams.
- Shortlist two or three faculties by city, currency and six year total, using the tables above.
- Open each official fee page and note the year it applies to. The First Faculty has not yet published its 2027/2028 page.
- Set aside the one-time fees: application, assessment and recognition fees.
- Pick your exam date early. Palacký and the Third Faculty open on 1 November 2026, and Masaryk's non-EU exams run from January to April 2027.
- Arrange the first year's tuition before enrolment, through remittance or an education loan.
- Once you're in, aim for top grades: at Masaryk, a 1.0 average can halve the next semester's fee.
