How to Apply
Admission to General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen is through the faculty's own written entrance examination, not NEET. Applicants submit the online application by 30 April 2026, pay the 940 CZK registration fee, sit a multiple-choice test in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and then prove their high-school education. Indian applicants can sit the exam in New Delhi through a cooperating agency or in Pilsen on the regular date.

Enrolment takes place on the Pilsen campus and the winter semester begins for the new intake.
The student must have completed Class 12 (or equivalent secondary education) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. A notarised, officially translated and legalised (apostille) copy of the school-leaving certificate must reach the faculty by 31 August 2026, with a 990 CZK assessment fee.

Applicants must submit the online application by the deadline, pay the 940 CZK registration fee, and pass the faculty's written entrance examination. Applicants may apply only once per academic year, failed candidates may not retake within the same year, and transfer students are not accepted.

Charles University provides accommodation in student dormitories near the faculty campus, managed by the university's halls administration (KaM). Students arrange and book their accommodation personally after admission.
New students are commonly housed at the Bolevecká 34 student dormitory in Pilsen; bookings are handled by the halls office, and interest must be confirmed by e-mail by 14 July 2026 or the reserved place cannot be guaranteed.
Rooms are typically single or shared doubles, each with a bed, study desk, chair and storage space, with common areas maintained by the halls staff.
Dormitories provide shared kitchens and common rooms on each floor; students bring their own kitchenware. Bathrooms are shared between rooms or along the floor depending on the building.
Dormitory accommodation in Pilsen is cheaper than Prague halls, typically around ₹13,000–₹20,000 per month, keeping total living costs well below the capital's.
Accommodation is requested after admission through the halls office (KaM); capacity is limited, so confirming your place by the 14 July 2026 deadline is essential.

Practising in India
To practise medicine in India after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Indian students follow a clear and well-defined licensing pathway set by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has three stages: clearing the NMC screening examination (currently the FMGE, transitioning to the NExT), completing a one-year internship, and registering with the medical council. None of these steps are unusual or specific to this faculty — every Indian student who studies medicine abroad follows the same route, and thousands do so successfully each year.
Step 1
Graduates must clear the qualifying examination that licenses foreign medical graduates to practise in India. At present this is the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), which India is in the process of replacing with the National Exit Test (NExT). The NExT is designed to be a single, unified exam that acts as the mandatory licensing test for all medical graduates and functions as the entrance examination for postgraduate (MD/MS) seats in India. Preparing steadily through the six years of study, rather than only at the end, consistently produces the strongest results.
Step 2
After qualifying, students complete a one-year Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) in India. This is a paid, hospital-based internship that rotates through core departments such as medicine, surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics & gynaecology, giving graduates supervised, hands-on clinical experience within the Indian healthcare system before they practise independently.
Step 3
The final step is registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the relevant State Medical Council. Once registered, the graduate holds a permanent medical registration number and is fully licensed to practise medicine as a doctor anywhere in India.
