How to Apply
Admission to General Medicine at Palacký University Olomouc is through the faculty's own entrance procedure, not NEET: a written test in Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics at British A-level standard, followed by a short interview assessing English and motivation. Applications open on 1 November 2025, and each applicant's deadline falls two weeks before their chosen entrance-exam date.
The online application window for September 2026 entry opens; the €80 application fee is paid online per application.

A written multiple-choice test in Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics at British A-level standard, held in Olomouc or through cooperating representatives abroad.

Czech-American plastic and reconstructive surgeon who graduated in medicine from Palacký University Olomouc. In 2011 he led the team that performed the first full face transplant in the United States, and is now one of the world's leading authorities on face transplantation.
The founder of modern genetics, who studied at the university's philosophical institute in Olomouc before entering the abbey in Brno where he carried out his famous experiments on inheritance. His laws of inheritance underpin all of modern genetics.

Palacký University runs several student halls of residence (koleje) in Olomouc, managed by the university's accommodation and catering administration. Students apply for a room after admission.
Olomouc is compact, and student halls are within a short tram, bus or bicycle ride of the medical faculty on Hněvotínská and the University Hospital Olomouc, so students rarely face long commutes.
Rooms are typically single or shared doubles, each with a bed, study desk, chair and storage space, with common areas maintained by the halls staff.
Halls provide shared kitchens and common rooms on each floor; students bring their own kitchenware. Bathrooms are shared between rooms or along the floor depending on the building.
Dormitory accommodation in Olomouc is cheaper than Prague halls, typically around ₹13,000–₹20,000 per month, keeping total living costs well below the capital.
Accommodation is requested after admission through the university's halls administration; capacity is limited, so applying as early as possible is strongly recommended.
Newly admitted students can get help booking their room and obtaining the accommodation confirmation required for the student visa, through the faculty and the halls office.

Practising in India
To practise medicine in India after graduating from Palacký University Olomouc, Indian students follow a clear and well-defined licensing pathway set by the National Medical Commission (NMC): clearing the NMC screening examination (currently the FMGE, transitioning to the NExT), completing a one-year internship, and registering with the medical council. None of these steps are unusual or specific to this university — every Indian student who studies medicine abroad follows the same route, and thousands do so successfully each year.
Step 1
Graduates must clear the qualifying examination that licenses foreign medical graduates to practise in India — currently the FMGE, which India is replacing with the National Exit Test (NExT). The NExT is a single unified exam that acts as both the mandatory licensing test and the entrance examination for postgraduate (MD/MS) seats in India. Preparing steadily through the six years of study, rather than only at the end, consistently produces the strongest results.
Step 2
After qualifying, students complete a one-year Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) in India. This is a paid, hospital-based internship rotating through core departments such as medicine, surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics & gynaecology, giving graduates supervised, hands-on clinical experience within the Indian healthcare system before they practise independently.
Step 3
The final step is registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the relevant State Medical Council. Once registered, the graduate holds a permanent medical registration number and is fully licensed to practise medicine as a doctor anywhere in India.
