What is the General Medicine course at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen?
The General Medicine programme page describes a six-year, full-time master's course taught in English that ends with the MUDr. degree, the Czech equivalent of MBBS. The first two years cover Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Biophysics, Medical Biology and Genetics, Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry and Physiology. Years three and four add Pathology, Pathological Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology and Pharmacology, and bedside teaching begins in year three. The last two years are clinical, in blocks, and the final state examinations are in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and Health Promotion and Protection.
Clinical teaching takes place in the University Hospital Pilsen, whose clinics are joint workplaces of the faculty, on the Lochotin and Bory sites. Students do a 60-hour patient care practice after year two and 60-hour practices in Internal Medicine and Surgery after year four, which the faculty says may be done at home in India, and sixth-year students may complete their pre-state-exam internships in hospitals in their home countries. Every student also passes an exam in Latin medical terminology, English and one more language, with Czech taught from year one for ward work. The Pilsen faculty page on this site covers the campus and city in more detail.

Who is eligible for Charles University Pilsen admission 2027?
The legal condition for Charles University Pilsen admission 2027 is completed secondary education with a school-leaving examination, which an Indian Class 12 board certificate satisfies. The faculty sets no minimum percentage and no subject marks, and it does not ask for NEET. You may apply while still in Class 12 and submit the certificate after your results, as long as the apostilled hard copy reaches Pilsen by 31 August 2027.
Two things an Indian family should still plan for. First, NEET: the National Medical Commission's rules require an Indian student who later wants to register in India to have qualified NEET in the year of admission abroad, so sit NEET 2027 even though Pilsen does not ask; the NEETsheet guide on NEET qualifying marks explains the percentile you need. Second, English: the faculty states that no specific document of English proficiency is required because the whole entrance examination is held in English, so IELTS and TOEFL are not needed.
What is in the Pilsen entrance exam?
The entrance exam for Charles University Pilsen admission 2027 is a written test with 60 questions, 20 each in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Each question has one correct answer worth one point and there are no penalties for mistakes, so you answer every question. You pass by scoring at least 9 points in each of the three sections and reaching the total score the Dean fixes from the expected number of admitted students; the exam is marked by a university professor and the result appears in your SIS application within a week.
Subject | Syllabus on the admission page | Sample test |
|---|---|---|
Biology (20 questions) | General and cell biology; genetics and heredity; human biology; ecology | |
Chemistry (20 questions) | General and inorganic chemistry; organic chemistry and biochemistry | |
Physics (20 questions) | Units and quantities; mechanics; thermodynamics; electricity and magnetism; optics and acoustics |
The faculty's rules for the admission examination (Dean's Measure 1/2026) set the room rules: only a school pocket calculator, your own blue pen for the answer sheet, no eraser pens, no electronic devices, and leaving the room ends your test. The faculty runs no preparatory course for English-programme applicants and lists A-level textbooks by Toole, Ramsden and Breithaupt as a guide. The NCERT Class 11 and 12 books cover the same ground, NEETsheet's NTA mock tests for NEET 2027 give multiple-choice practice in the same three subjects, and the guide to MBBS entrance exams in Europe compares the Pilsen paper with the other Czech faculties.
Exams are held in Pilsen on 26 May and 28 June 2027 and by cooperating agencies in Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Israel, Sweden, Germany, Austria and India. The admission page lists India with the city and date still to be announced; agency sittings usually run from May to August. The university record adds that the exam may be held online only when the Dean approves it for force majeure or a serious medical condition.

The Dean's Measure shows that the fee has been set per cohort each year, at 390,000 CZK for every cohort admitted since 2023/24, and that the faculty does not publish a written six-year fee guarantee. The Czech Republic MBBS fees guide puts the Pilsen figure beside the other faculties.

How does the Czech student visa work for a September 2027 start?
A non-EU student staying more than 90 days needs a long-term visa for study, applied for at the Czech Embassy in New Delhi at least 90 days before departure; it cannot be applied for inside the Czech Republic. The faculty's admission page lists the documents above and states that non-Schengen applicants are enrolled only with a valid one-year student visa obtained before the academic year begins. Charles University's entry requirements and visa page adds that the decision should come within 60 days of submission, and the Czech Embassy in New Delhi lists the study visa requirements. The student visa guide for MBBS in Europe walks through the VFS appointment.
Where do Pilsen medical students live?
The faculty books rooms for international students in the Charles University dormitories on request to the study department; confirm your interest by email to the accommodation officer by 15 July 2027. The Bolevecka dormitory at Bolevecka 34 has en-suite cubicles with a fridge and a two-ring cooker in each room and internet in every room, with 20 single rooms, 144 double rooms and nine four-bed rooms. The Heyrovskeho dormitory near Borsky park has double and triple rooms in flat cells with a shared kitchen on each floor. A reservation holds only once the 2,100 CZK long-term deposit and the first month's rent are paid, and the 2026/27 accommodation year ran from 16 September to 9 September. The faculty's own estimate for living costs puts a university dormitory at about EUR 160 a month, a private hall at about EUR 500, and a university meal at about EUR 4.
Is the Pilsen MUDr. degree recognised in India and the EU?
The faculty is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and Charles University states that the English-taught curriculum is accredited by the European Union, which is the basis for a graduate joining specialist training in the Czech Republic or another EU country. For India, the six-year English course with clinical training and the faculty's NMC-compliant structure means a graduate sits the FMGE, the screening test held by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, after returning, and then registers with a state medical council. Our guide on which NMC rules apply to you sets out the conditions, and the web story on how to check a university on WDOMS shows the search.

A worked example: applying to Pilsen from Class 12
For example, take Meera. She is in Class 12 at an ISC school in Kochi and wants to start medicine in Pilsen in October 2027.
In the second week of November 2026 her mother opens the SIS application, uploads her passport and Class 11 marksheet, and pays 990 CZK through the QR code. The family starts the apostille of her Class 10 certificate the same week.
Meera revises Biology, Chemistry and Physics from NCERT through the winter, works through the three Pilsen sample tests in March, and writes her boards in February and March. She sits NEET in May.
On 26 May 2027 she sits the Pilsen exam, answering all 60 questions. The result shows in SIS the following week; she scores above 9 in each section and above the Dean's total, and confirms her place in June.
In July the family pays 390,000 CZK through the Convera portal, confirms the Bolevecka double room by 15 July, and books the visa appointment at VFS in Delhi. The apostilled Class 12 certificate goes by courier in early August and arrives before 31 August. Meera enrols in September and classes begin on 1 October.
Three things to notice from Meera's case. Paying the fee in November meant the application was complete long before 30 April. Sitting NEET in May, even though Pilsen did not ask for it, kept her Indian registration route open. And sending the apostilled certificate in early August, not late August, avoided the one deadline the faculty does not extend.
