Emilio Aguinaldo College MD: FMGE Results and NMC Rules

Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) is a private medical school in Manila, Philippines, that awards a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. In the December 2025 FMGE, 28.03% of its graduates passed, against 18.56% for all Philippine graduates. That is the number that matters most for an Indian student.

Key Takeaways

  • Emilio Aguinaldo College awards a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The NMC treats it like an MBBS only if the course meets the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021.

  • In the December 2025 FMGE, 132 Emilio Aguinaldo College graduates appeared and 37 passed, a pass rate of 28.03%, according to NBEMS.

  • The Philippines as a whole had a pass rate of 18.56% in the same session, so roughly one in five Philippine graduates passed.

  • The FMGL rules need at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same university, and teaching in English.

  • futureMBBS does not offer admission support for Emilio Aguinaldo College. This guide is for information only.

What is Emilio Aguinaldo College?

Emilio Aguinaldo College is a private college in Manila. It was founded in 1957 as the Marian School of Midwifery and took its present name in 1977, after General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippines. Its School of Medicine opened in 2001 with 25 first-year students.

The School of Medicine uses Medical Center Manila, a 250-bed hospital, as its clinical base. Like other Philippine medical schools, the medical course follows a pre-medical degree and ends with clerkship and internship. For an Indian student, the key question is whether the full course meets India's rules for foreign degrees.

Is the Emilio Aguinaldo College MD degree valid in India?

The Emilio Aguinaldo College MD degree can lead to practice in India, but only if the course meets the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021. The NMC is the National Medical Commission, India's medical regulator.

The FMGL rules set four conditions:

  • Course length: the medical course must last at least 54 months.

  • Internship abroad: a 12-month internship must be done at the same university that awards the degree.

  • Language: the whole course must be taught in English.

  • Internship in India: after passing FMGE, the graduate must do a further 12-month supervised internship in India.

The Philippine structure matters here. The pre-medical years do not count towards the 54 months. Only the MD course and its internship do. Our guide on how to check NMC and WDOMS recognition explains each check step by step.

How do Emilio Aguinaldo College graduates do in FMGE?

Emilio Aguinaldo College graduates pass FMGE more often than the Philippine average. FMGE is the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, the screening test every foreign medical graduate must pass before practising in India. It is conducted by NBEMS, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.

The table below uses the institute-wise reports that NBEMS publishes every year.

The trend is clear. The pass rate rose from about one in six in 2023 to a little over one in four from 2024 onwards. It has stayed close to 28% to 30% in every session since.

How does Emilio Aguinaldo College compare with other Philippine schools?

What should you do before applying to Emilio Aguinaldo College?

Before applying, an Indian student should work through these steps in order.

  1. Qualify NEET UG. Indian students need a qualifying NEET UG score to study medicine abroad. Our guide to the eligibility certificate for MBBS abroad explains the paperwork.

  2. Check the course length. Count only the MD course and internship, not the pre-medical years. Together they must meet the 54-month and 12-month rules.

  3. Plan for FMGE from year one. About 72% of Emilio Aguinaldo College graduates did not pass in December 2025. Our explainer on what the FMGE exam is covers the pattern and pass mark.

  4. Budget for the Indian internship. After FMGE, there is a further 12-month internship in India before full registration.

Is the Philippines the right choice for you?

The Philippines suits students who want an English-taught MD and are ready for the pre-medical stage and the FMGE. For a side-by-side view, read our comparison of MBBS in the Philippines vs a European medical school, or see the full MBBS in the Philippines country guide.

futureMBBS supports admission to 23 partner universities across 9 European countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Latvia, Romania, Cyprus and Lithuania. The Philippines is not one of them, so we do not offer admission support for Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Conclusion

Emilio Aguinaldo College is one of the stronger Philippine schools on FMGE results. It has held a pass rate close to 28% to 30% since 2024. That is still fewer than one in three. A family considering it should check the course against the FMGL 2021 rules and plan for FMGE preparation from the start.
