Is Capital Medical University approved for English MBBS in 2026?
Yes. On 24 June 2026, China's Ministry of Education sent the Embassy of India a diplomatic note. It names 43 universities allowed to admit international students to clinical medicine taught in English for 2026 to 2027. Capital Medical University is number 4 on that list. The embassy has published the note and the list on its advisories page.
This list matters for Indian families. The Embassy of India advisory for Indian students explains that China forbids international students from joining clinical medicine taught in Chinese or in a mixed English and Chinese mode. Students at universities outside the list may struggle to get a licence in China, which makes them ineligible for FMGE later.

Capital Medical University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), the global directory of medical schools, under school ID F0001149. The entry records that teaching began in 1960 and that the international programme is taught in English. It also states graduates can apply for ECFMG certification, the route to the US licensing exams. Our guide on how to check NMC and WDOMS recognition explains how to read an entry like this.
