Its full name is the Non-profit Joint Stock Company "Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov". KazNMU's Board of Directors approved the fees on 15 June 2026. They apply to the 2026 to 2027 and 2027 to 2028 years (KazNMU fee order, PDF). Rupee figures use the National Bank of Kazakhstan rate of 4.6 tenge to Rs. 1 on 29 September 2026 (National Bank of Kazakhstan exchange rates).

Across five degree years and the internship year, tuition comes to about 18,000,000 tenge, or roughly Rs. 39 lakh at today's rate. Hostel, food, visa, insurance and travel are extra. The admission rules also ask for a bank statement showing enough money for one year of tuition plus a hostel place.

FMGE is the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, run by NBEMS, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. An Indian who studies medicine abroad must pass it to work in India. NBEMS lists KazNMU graduates under slightly different spellings of the name. The table adds these together. It leaves out the separate medical college of the university.

KazNMU's admission rules for foreign citizens joining the English-medium Medicine and Dentistry programmes in 2026 to 2027 set out these steps (KazNMU admission process 2026 to 2027, PDF).

1. Send the documents. Foreign citizens apply through the organisations listed on the KazNMU page for foreign applicants. All files are sent as clear PDFs.

2. Receive the interview letter. The admission committee checks the file and sends a letter allowing an interview, which can be online. The letter can be checked on the university portal with its unique code.

3. Pass the interview. The minimum score is 60% of the maximum. Sample topics include why you chose medicine, what "Do no harm" means, and how a virus differs from a bacterium.

4. Enrolment. After selection, the original documents are handed in, the contract is signed and the fee is paid. The university then issues the enrolment order.

5. Invitation and visa. The university's department for foreign students arranges the invitation and visa after the enrolment order is signed.

• Passport. Valid for at least two years, with a notarised translation into Kazakh or Russian.

• School certificate and transcript. The original must carry an apostille, the official stamp that proves a document is genuine.

• NEET certificate. Required from every Indian citizen.

• English test. IELTS Academic 5.0, TOEFL iBT 35, TOEFL ITP 417, TOEIC 550 or Duolingo English Test 80.

• Medical papers. Form 075/U after a medical check in Kazakhstan, a vaccination card, and a home-country certificate that includes a psychiatrist's and narcologist's report.

• Police certificate. A document showing whether the student has a criminal record.

• Bank statement. Showing at least one year of tuition plus hostel costs, no older than five working days when the contract is signed.

• FMGE record. KazNMU graduates passed at 0% in 2023, 15.38% in 2024, 9.09% in June 2025 and 19.35% in December 2025. That is below the Kazakhstan average in both 2025 sittings.

• Total cost. Tuition alone is about Rs. 39 lakh for six years at current rates, before hostel and living costs.

• Language. The course must stay in English every year for NMC. Students also study Kazakh or Russian to talk with patients.
