What happened after the Delhi entrance exam?
Passing the exam is only the first step. The Pilsen successful applicants section lists what an admitted student had to do next.
Send the school certificate: a notarised hard copy of the Class 12 certificate, posted or handed in. PDFs and plain copies are not accepted.
Translate and legalise it: documents not in Czech, English or Slovak need an official translation. Legalisation or an apostille is done only in the country that issued the document, so in India.
Meet the deadline: documents had to reach the faculty by 31 August 2026. The official acceptance letter follows only after this.
Apply for the student visa: Indian students apply at a Czech embassy at least 90 days before travel. The faculty lists a passport, the acceptance letter and proof of accommodation. Students also need proof of at least CZK 120,000 in funds, a police clearance document and one photo.
Travel insurance: proof of travel medical insurance is needed before the visa is issued.
Our step-by-step guide on how to apply for Charles University covers the application form itself.
Can Charles University graduates practise medicine in India?
Yes, if they meet the NMC rules. The NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 set three conditions. The course must last at least 54 months and be taught in English. It must include a 12-month internship at the same foreign institution. Graduates then pass FMGE, the screening exam for foreign medical graduates, and complete a 12-month supervised internship in India. Our guide on which NMC rules apply to you explains this by year of admission.
The official NBEMS results show how Charles University graduates have done in FMGE. The numbers are small, so each pass or fail moves the percentage a lot.
FMGE exam | Charles University faculty | Appeared | Passed | Pass rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
December 2025 | First Faculty of Medicine | 3 | 2 | 66.67% |
June 2025 | First Faculty of Medicine | 3 | 3 | 100% |
2024 (both sittings) | First Faculty of Medicine | 4 | 3 | 75% |
2024 (both sittings) | Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové | 1 | 1 | 100% |
2023 (both sittings) | Third Faculty of Medicine | 2 | 1 | 50% |
Sources: NBEMS FMGE Performance Report 2025, FMGE 2024 report and FMGE 2023 report. For comparison, the national FMGE pass rate was 23.94% in December 2025, roughly one in four. Our web story on FMGE pass rates by country shows the wider picture.

What if you missed the June 2026 entrance exam?
If you did not apply by 30 April 2026: the 2026/27 intake at Pilsen is closed. The next chance is the 2027/28 intake. For 2026/27, applications opened on 1 November 2025.
If you sat the exam and did not pass: the Pilsen rules do not allow a retake in the same academic year. You can apply again for the next intake.
If you passed but missed the 31 August document deadline: the faculty does not accept documents sent late or by email. The acceptance letter is issued only after they arrive.
If you want a different faculty: each Charles University faculty runs its own exam and dates. A result at one faculty does not carry over to another.

How futureMBBS supports applicants for the Charles University entrance exam
futureMBBS is founded and run by doctors. Charles University is one of our 23 partner universities in 9 countries. For an in-India sitting, our work covers these steps:

Exam preparation: we work through the faculty's own syllabus and sample tests in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The exam day in India: we arrange the Delhi sitting with the faculty and tell each registered applicant the time and place in advance.
After admission: we guide families through translation, apostille, the visa file and arrival in the Czech Republic.
We ran a similar in-India sitting for Slovakia, described in our post on the Comenius University entrance exam.
