CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2027 and Your NEET Timeline: How to Plan Both

The CBSE Class 12 date sheet 2027 has not been published yet. CBSE has confirmed that the Main Examinations 2027 are going ahead through its List of Candidates circular dated 17 September 2026. Your school’s submission under that circular is what puts your name on the exam list.

Until the date sheet lands, the useful planning is the part that does not depend on it. This page is updated the day CBSE publishes.

Key takeaways on the CBSE Class 12 date sheet 2027

  • Not released yet. As of 9 October 2026, CBSE has not published the Class 12 date sheet for the 2027 Main Examinations.

  • The exams themselves are confirmed. The LOC circular numbered CBSE/LOC/X-XII/2026-2027/ and dated 17 September 2026 states it is for the Main Examinations 2027 of Class X and Class XII.

  • Your school must sponsor you. Only students whose names are submitted through the LOC can appear in session 2026-27. This is the school’s action, not yours, and it is worth confirming it has been done.

  • Class X now has two board exams. Under the Two Board Policy dated 26 June 2025, the First Board Examination for Class X runs during February and March and is mandatory. Class 12 is unaffected by that change.

  • Plan on the gaps, not the dates. The revision value sits in the days between papers, and that pattern holds whatever the exact dates turn out to be.

The circular reference is worth keeping. It is numbered CBSE/LOC/X-XII/2026-2027/ and dated 17 September 2026, and it states in terms that the LOC is for the Main Examinations 2027 of Class X and Class XII. You can read it on the CBSE main notices page.

When does the date sheet usually come out?

CBSE publishes the date sheet some weeks before the exams, and then revises it where needed. For the 2026 cycle, revised date sheets for both Class 10 and Class 12 were issued on 31 December 2025. That tells you two things: the original was out well before then, and a revision is a normal part of the process.

Two things follow for planning. First, a plan built only on the date sheet starts too late, because the useful work begins before it is published. Second, a plan built on a single fixed schedule is fragile, because the schedule can be revised.

The practical answer is to build around the shape of the exam season rather than specific dates, then slot the dates in when CBSE releases them.

What should you fix before the date sheet arrives?

  1. Confirm your name is in the LOC. Only students submitted through the List of Candidates can appear in session 2026-27. Ask your school to confirm it, and check your subject codes while you are asking, because a wrong subject code is corrected far more easily now than later.

  2. Check your personal details. The LOC carries your name, your parents’ names and your date of birth. These are the fields that later have to match your NEET application and your counselling documents.

  3. Get your Class 10 certificate in order. It is a required document at NEET counselling reporting, and CBSE requires Class 12 candidates to have passed Class 10 from a recognised board.

  4. Fix the NEET syllabus in front of you now. The syllabus is published by the National Medical Commission, and working from it rather than from a coaching list is the single change that saves the most time.

  5. Sort your documents early. If you took a year off, the gap certificate for NEET is the one families forget until counselling.

How do you use the gaps between board papers?

The gaps are the whole game. A Class 12 science student sits a handful of papers spread across several weeks, and the days between them are not study days for the next board paper alone.

Three rules make those days work.

  • Protect the day before a board paper entirely for that paper. No NEET revision, no new topics. The board mark is on the table that day.

  • Use the longer gaps for NEET-only revision in the subject you have just finished. The material is at its freshest the week after you sit the paper, and that is the cheapest revision you will ever do.

  • Keep one short daily NEET contact across the whole season. Forty minutes of recall practice a day stops the two-month board window from costing you NEET fluency.

The order of your papers decides how much of this you get. A long gap after Physics is worth more to a NEET candidate than a long gap after an optional subject, which is why the date sheet matters for planning rather than for anxiety.

Which subject dates matter most for NEET revision?

Not all board papers carry the same weight for a NEET candidate, because the overlap with the NEET syllabus differs. The NEET UG paper has 180 questions for 720 marks. Biology accounts for 90 of those questions, which is 50% of the paper, while Physics and Chemistry have 45 questions each, or 25% apiece.

Subject

Overlap with NEET

What to do with the gap after it

Biology

Highest. NEET gives Biology the largest share of the paper

Convert board revision straight into NEET recall practice while it is fresh

Physics

High on concepts, different on question style

Switch to NEET style numericals rather than re-reading theory

Chemistry

High, especially Organic and Inorganic

Drill reactions and exceptions, which boards test lightly and NEET does not

English and optional subjects

None

Treat the gap after these as full NEET days

Read your date sheet with this table beside it the day it is published. If a long gap falls after an optional subject, that is a NEET week. If Biology sits late in the schedule, your NEET Biology revision has to start earlier than it otherwise would.

How do you handle NEET registration while boards are running?

Registration and boards overlap, and the fix is to treat registration as an admin task done in one sitting rather than something you return to.

  1. Watch the official site, not a forwarded message. The NEET UG information bulletin and the application window are published by the National Testing Agency.

  2. Keep the documents ready before the window opens. A scanned photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate and identity proof in the specified formats are what hold people up.

  3. Apply in the first week of the window. Leaving it to the final days puts it inside your board season and inside a portal under heavy load.

  4. Match your name exactly. Your NEET application should carry your name as it appears in your Class 10 certificate and in the CBSE LOC. A mismatch becomes a verification query months later at counselling.

  5. Keep the confirmation page and fee receipt. You will need the score card and the registration details through the whole counselling process.

What that process looks like afterwards is set out on our NEET counselling page, and the number of seats in play is in the MBBS seat matrix 2026-27.
