Medical universities in Azerbaijan deliver a structured six-year programme taught entirely in English, built on pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical phases, with the internship completed within the six years.

Admissions
Indian students can apply for MBBS in Azerbaijan directly after Class 12, subject to the NMC's requirements for studying abroad and each university's admission procedure.
The student must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised board.

Minimum aggregate percentage required in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, in line with NMC norms.

Candidates must be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year.
Indian applicants need a valid NEET qualification and the standard set of academic and identity documents.
NEET Qualification
A valid NEET score is mandatory for the NMC eligibility certificate to study MBBS abroad, and stays valid for three years for that purpose.
Passport & Documents
A valid passport, Class 12 certificate and mark sheets, and a medical fitness certificate are required for admission and the visa.
Important: A valid NEET qualification is required for Indian students to later pursue licensing (FMGE / NExT) and practise in India, even though admission to the Azerbaijani university itself is on Class 12 marks.

How to Apply
Admission to General Medicine is based on Class 12 marks and a valid NEET qualification, through each university's own application process, with no separate written entrance exam.

Scholarships
The Government of Azerbaijan offers a limited number of scholarships to international students, including through cooperation with OIC and other member-state programmes; eligibility and quotas vary by year and country.
Some universities offer limited merit-based tuition concessions to high-performing international students; amounts and criteria are set by each university.
Because total costs are modest, most Indian families fund the degree through education loans from Indian banks and lenders, using the university admission letter for both the loan and the visa.

Universities in Azerbaijan provide hostel accommodation for international students, often with separate hostels for male and female students and Indian mess facilities. Rooms are usually shared and furnished, with kitchens, internet and laundry, and costs are low.
Many students rent private or shared flats in Baku, often arranged through seniors or local agents. A shared-flat room is affordable by Indian standards, before utilities, and the city's metro and bus network connects student areas to the university and hospitals.
