Introduction
Admission to any Nepali medical college is through the MECEE-BL entrance examination set by Nepal's Medical Education Commission, and fees are regulated by the Commission. Indian students also need a valid NEET qualification for the NMC eligibility route. Where You'll Study
From the capital Kathmandu to lakeside Pokhara and Dharan in the east, each Nepali city offers its own mix of colleges, affordability and student life.
Kathmandu, the capital, is home to the Institute of Medicine (Tribhuvan University) and Kathmandu Medical College, along with the nearby Patan Academy of Health Sciences in Lalitpur. It is the largest city, with the most teaching hospitals and the biggest Indian student community.
Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city beneath the Annapurna range, is home to Manipal College of Medical Sciences. It offers a calmer setting, a pleasant climate and a strong, long-established international student community.
Dharan, in eastern Nepal, is home to the B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, one of the country's premier autonomous medical universities. It is an affordable, student-focused town close to the Indian border.

Program Structure
Nepal's MBBS runs for 5.5 years, structured as basic sciences, para-clinical and clinical study, followed by a compulsory one-year internship, and is taught in English along lines familiar to Indian students.

Admissions
Indian students can apply after Class 12, must sit Nepal's MECEE-BL entrance examination for admission, and need a valid NEET qualification for the NMC eligibility route.
The student must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a strong academic record.
Subjects:
Minimum aggregate percentage required in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (plus a qualifying MECEE-BL score), in line with NMC norms.

MECEE-BL Entrance
Admission to any Nepali medical college is through the MECEE-BL common entrance examination set by Nepal's Medical Education Commission; a qualifying score is required.
NEET (for Indian students)
A valid NEET score is mandatory for the NMC eligibility certificate to study MBBS abroad, and stays valid for three years for that purpose.
Important: Nepal requires the MECEE-BL for admission to medical college; Indian students additionally need a valid NEET qualification to later pursue licensing (FMGE / NExT) and practise in India.
