NEET SS 2025 Qualifying Cut Off Drops to 30th Percentile
NEET SS 2025: the qualifying bar has been lowered
The qualifying bar fell to the 30th percentile
NEET SS 2025 candidates now qualify at the 30th percentile instead of the 50th. The revised result has already gone to the Medical Counselling Committee.
The Supreme Court ordered the change
The health ministry's letter of 22 September 2026 cites a Supreme Court order of 17 September 2026 in Writ Petition (Civil) 771 of 2026. The result was revised to match.
NEET SS is the super speciality entrance
NEET SS is the entrance a doctor sits after a postgraduate degree, for super speciality courses such as DM, MCh and DrNB. It is taken in subject groups, not as one paper.
The same percentile, very different marks
At the 30th percentile the cut off is 175 out of 600 in the Medical group and 325 in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology group. The percentile is the same, the mark is not.
Four more groups, four more numbers
Out of 600, the revised cut offs are 315 in Radiodiagnosis, 306 in Microbiology, 302 in Psychiatry and 231 in the Paediatric group. Each group is ranked only against itself.
Your rank and scorecard do not change
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences says the group specific ranks declared on 23 January 2026 are unchanged, and no fresh score cards will be released.
