NEET PG 2026 result lands on 30 September

The scale of this year's exam

NBEMS registered 2,73,096 candidates and 2,65,980 sat the paper on 30 August 2026 across 1,111 centres. A re-examination was held on 5 September for candidates affected by disruption in Jaipur.

The percentile you need to qualify

The cut-off is the 50th percentile for General and EWS candidates, the 45th for General-PwBD, and the 40th for SC, ST and OBC candidates. Percentile is set from the pool, so the mark behind it moves each year.

What those percentiles meant last year

In 2025 the same percentiles translated to 276 out of 800 for General and EWS, 255 for General-PwBD, and 235 for SC, ST and OBC candidates.

What you are competing for

India has 86,360 postgraduate medical seats, counting NMC recognised MD and MS places alongside NBEMS DNB and DrNB seats, per the health ministry's figure given in the Lok Sabha on 7 August 2026.

Counselling follows, on separate tracks

The All India Quota, state quotas, deemed and private universities, AFMS institutions and DNB seats each run their own counselling, and a candidate can hold places in more than one process at a time.
