FMGE October 2026: Admit Card, Exam and Result Dates

FMGE October 2026: every date still ahead of you

The exam is on 31 October 2026

The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, the test an Indian doctor trained abroad must pass to practise here, runs on 31 October 2026. Applications closed on 25 September.

The last fixes close on 21 October

You can still correct the images on your application until 19 October, and upload any missing document by 21 October. After that the application is treated as ineligible.

City on 20 October, admit card on 27

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences tells you which city you sit in on 20 October, and issues admit cards on 27 October. The exam follows four days later.

Results are due by 30 November 2026

The bulletin gives 30 November 2026 as the latest the result can come. Marks are not re-added, papers are not re-marked, and no grace marks are given.

The paper is 300 questions in two parts

Each part carries 150 questions and 150 minutes, with a scheduled break between them. There is no negative marking, so a blank answer costs the same as a wrong one.

Pass is 150 out of 300, attempts unlimited

You pass at 150 marks or more out of 300, which is half the paper. There is no cap on attempts, but once you pass you cannot sit FMGE again.

Want to know more about the FMGE itself

Our FMGE guide covers who must sit it, what the eligibility rules say about your course abroad, the exam pattern and the pass rates from recent sessions.
