Caste Certificate for NEET Counselling: The Format
The caste certificate counselling actually accepts
The signature has a rank, not a name
The bulletin names who may issue it: a Revenue Officer not below Tehsildar, a District Magistrate, a Sub Divisional Magistrate, or the officer for your own area.
There is a printed format, and it binds
The Medical Counselling Committee prints the form inside its own bulletin. A certificate in a state format, however genuine, is not the one the desk will accept.
English or Hindi, or bring a translation
The certificate has to be in English or Hindi. If it is in another language, carry an attested translation into one of them when you report to the college.
The sub caste has to be written on it
For Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates it must be clearly mentioned. For Other Backward Classes it must tally with the Central List, not the state one.
A mismatch cancels you, not just the seat
Give wrong information about eligibility at any stage and your candidature is cancelled for the further rounds, and the security deposit is forfeited as well.
The college checks, and not the committee
Physical verification is done by the allotted college. Every allotment stays provisional until that check clears, so a paper problem surfaces on the day you report.
