How to Apply

Admission Process for MBBS

Admission to MBBS at VMMC is through NEET-UG followed by counselling. NEET-qualified students participate in counselling — 15% of seats through All India Quota (MCC) and 85% through the Delhi State quota managed by GGSIPU. Students register, fill the college in choice filling, and secure a seat through counselling and document verification; seats are allotted on NEET rank, availability, and reservation, after which students report to confirm their seat.

VMMC's academic campus is within the Safdarjung Hospital campus, with about 22 classrooms, departmental floors, anatomy/physiology/biochemistry and clinical labs, a multi-storey emergency building, two Sports Injury Centres, a super-speciality block, a three-storey library, and on-campus hostels for UG, PG, and nursing students.

History

History Information

Founded in 2001

Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, a central government medical college, was founded in 2001 at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. Its foundation stone was laid in late 2001 by the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in the presence of then Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani and Health Minister C. P. Thakur.

Teaching from 2002

The college started teaching in February 2002 with its first MBBS class, and the campus building was later dedicated by then Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

Postgraduate Programs (2011)

The college began its postgraduate programs (pre-clinical and para-clinical) in 2011, and in 2013 VMMC was recognized as a prominent medical institution.
