TNMC Mumbai

Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai, is one of the premier and oldest medical colleges in Mumbai, established on 4 September 1921. It is recognised by the National Medical Commission and affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. It does not feature in the NIRF top-50 medical list but ranks 37th in the medical category of the IIRF Rankings 2025 and is counted among the top three medical colleges in Maharashtra. How to Apply

Admission Process for MBBS

Admission to MBBS at TNMC is through NEET-UG followed by central and state counselling. Of the approximately 150 seats, 15% are filled via the All India Quota (MCC) and 85% are reserved for the Maharashtra State Quota (CET Cell). After qualifying NEET-UG, students register, fill choices, and seats are allotted; allotted students must report to the college physically to confirm their seat and submit documents and fees.

TNMC and its hospital are spread over approximately 20 acres in central Mumbai, with an academic block (lecture halls and laboratories), hospital buildings with multiple wards, a residential block, and sports facilities. The first building on entering is the ~1,300-bed (sanctioned 1,800) seven-floor hospital, linked to the main OPD building by the Aarogya Path; the new multi-storey OPD block adds a trauma ward, ICCU, blood bank, cardiac cath lab and super-specialty departments. There are about four lecture halls (two for first-year students), a cadaver ratio of 1:25, and a central library established in 1946 spanning ~10,830 sq ft.
