Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research (SMIMER) is a municipal medical college owned and run by the Surat Municipal Corporation, one of very few fully municipal-run medical colleges in India, in Surat, Gujarat. Established in 1999, it is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, and admits 250 MBBS students a year on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Gujarat state quota (ACPC Gujarat). It also runs postgraduate (MD/MS) programmes. Clinical training runs at the attached SMIMER Hospital.
