SCB Cuttack
Srirama Chandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital (S.C.B. Medical College) is a government medical college in Cuttack, Odisha, named after Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo, the Maharajah of the Mayurbhanj princely state. Recognised by the National Medical Commission, it ranked 44th in the NIRF 2022 ranking and is one of India's oldest centres of medical training. The college is under a '5T' redevelopment plan to be transformed into an AIIMS-plus institution with approximately 5,000+ beds in two phases, and it trains about 2,000+ medical and paramedical professionals every year.

Admission Process for MBBS
SCB Medical College has an MBBS intake of approximately 250 seats per year, filled on NEET-UG rank and counselling. About 85% of seats are state-quota, filled through OJEE counselling, while 15% are filled through the All India Quota. SCB Hospital is a broad super-speciality facility with approximately 2,132 beds and an OPD inflow of about 2,000+. Under the government redevelopment plan, it will add about 5,000 beds to become a world-class facility.
The hospital's super-speciality infrastructure includes a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Renal Transplant Unit, Regional Centre for Tuberculosis, Mental Health Institute, Multi-Specialty Trauma Centre, and a Cardiology Centre.
The campus supports physically challenged students with ramps, lifts, wheelchairs, walking aids, separate toilets, and accommodation for parents and caregivers.
The three-storey central library has 500+ seats and holds about 21,878 books (11,499 textbooks and 10,379 reference books), plus 11,000+ e-journals and 2,000+ e-books.
The Telemedicine Services Centre (established 2001 with ISRO and SGPGI Lucknow) supports distance medical education and remote care.

History Information
19th-Century Roots & Orissa Medical School (1875)
The college traces its roots to a 19th-century dispensary / First Aid Centre on the present premises, later converted into a small hospital by the British. In 1875, through the efforts of Dr. Stewart, the Orissa Medical School came into being with a capacity of 20 Licentiate Medical Practitioner students, affiliated with the Bihar and Orissa Medical Examination Board.
