Introduction
SBKS Medical Institute and Research Centre is a private deemed-university medical college in Vadodara, Gujarat, and one of the state's older private medical colleges. A constituent college of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be-University), it is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and admits 250 MBBS students a year on NEET-UG merit, alongside postgraduate (MD/MS) programmes. As a private deemed-university college, admission is by NEET-UG through MCC deemed-university counselling and the institute's management and NRI quotas, with tuition around Rs 22 lakh per year (deemed quota) and higher NRI fees. Clinical training runs at Dhiraj Hospital, Piparia, an attached teaching hospital of around 1,300 beds.
As a private deemed-university college, MBBS at SBKS Medical Institute and Research Centre is filled purely on NEET-UG merit through MCC deemed-university counselling and the institute's management and NRI quotas — there is no ACPC state quota, since deemed universities admit through central deemed counselling. Clinical training runs at Dhiraj Hospital, Piparia, an attached teaching hospital of around 1,300 beds, with an emergency department, OPD and IPD services and the major clinical specialties. Its large teaching hospital, NMC-approved degree awarded through Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, and NEET-UG admission make it an established option for a private MBBS seat in Gujarat.
