Introduction
Saveetha Medical College, Chennai, was established in 2008 under the Saveetha Institute of Medical & Technical Sciences (SIMATS), the deemed university (its parent trust was set up in 2001). One of about 13 institutions under the university, it is among the highest-ranked private medical colleges in Chennai (ranked 3rd in Chennai after CMC and AVV) and offers about 12 super-specialty departments. The NMC has granted 250 MBBS seats and 132 postgraduate seats every year.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Saveetha (a deemed university) is through NEET-UG followed by MCC counselling. Qualified students register, submit documents and complete choice filling; MCC allots seats on NEET rank. Selected candidates report to the college to complete admission formalities within the deadlines.
The student must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Subjects:
A minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biochemistry is required (40% for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD).

It has ~300 classrooms and 72 seminar halls (each with projector and smartboard), ~54 demonstration rooms, 2 simulation labs, ~257 air-conditioned staff rooms and ~227 laboratories (preclinical, biochemical, clinical) plus 21 research labs and a skill lab (CPR, ACLS, trauma, first aid). Saveetha Medical College Hospital has ~1,700+ beds (8 super- and 16 broad-specialty departments), 75 IPD wards, 196 clinics and 24 surgical operatories. The academic block has 16 museums, 2 auditoriums (1,500 capacity) and 9 mini-auditoriums (200 each). Sports facilities include an 18.3-acre cricket ground, swimming pool, 3 tennis courts, 5 gyms, a hockey field, 2 indoor sports centres, a yoga and gymnastic centre; the medical library holds ~21,000 books with reading, discussion and group-study rooms.
