How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
MBBS admission is based on NEET-UG. For the 15% All India Quota, candidates go through MCC counselling. For the 85% West Bengal state quota, counselling is handled by WBMCC. The process broadly moves through NEET qualification, online registration, fee payment, document verification, choice filling, seat allotment, and physical reporting at the allotted college. For West Bengal state quota seats, domicile conditions apply.

The hospital setup includes OPD services, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, operation theatre services, hybrid CCU, cardiology, CTVS and thoracic surgery, radiotherapy, neurosurgery, and anaesthesiology, pain medicine and critical care.
History
History Information
The Calcutta School of Medicine (1886)
R.G. Kar's history goes back to 1886, when The Calcutta School of Medicine was founded by Dr. Radha Gobinda Kar and other doctors. It began in rented premises, used Mayo Hospital for clinical teaching in its early phase, and later moved toward its present Belgachia base after land was acquired in 1898 and a hospital building came up in 1902.
Asia's First Non-Government Medical College
The institution is also remembered as the first non-government medical college in Asia.
Becoming Belgachhia & Carmichael (1904–1916)
In 1904, it merged with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bengal. In 1916, it was formally inaugurated as Belgachhia Medical College. It later became Carmichael Medical College.
R.G. Kar Medical College (1948–1958)
It was renamed R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital on 12 May 1948, and was taken over by the Government of West Bengal on 12 May 1958. Over time, it grew into one of Kolkata's major government medical colleges.
