Patna Medical College & Hospital (PMCH), Patna is a government medical college in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Established in 1925 (with roots in the Temple Medical School of 1874 and the former Prince of Wales Medical College), it is one of the oldest and largest medical colleges in India. It is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Patna. It admits 200 MBBS students each year, filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Bihar state quota (BCECEB/UGMAC), and also runs postgraduate MD/MS programmes across about 20 specialties (around 150-200 PG seats).

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Patna Medical College is entirely through NEET-UG merit. As a government college, seats are filled through two routes: the 15% All India Quota via MCC counselling and the 85% Bihar state quota via the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Bihar (BCECEB/UGMAC counselling). There is no management or NRI quota.
The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.

Minimum qualifying-exam marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together: 50% for General/EWS, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for PwBD candidates (per NEET-UG norms).

Patna Medical College was established in 1925 (as the Prince of Wales Medical College, with roots in the Temple Medical School of 1874) at Patna, becoming one of the oldest and largest medical colleges in India.

Housing
Patna Medical College provides separate on-campus hostel accommodation for men and women (and interns and PG residents), within the campus close to the academic blocks and the teaching hospital, so students can move easily between classes, wards and their rooms.
Resident students are housed in furnished hostel rooms with beds, study tables, storage and study facilities; single, twin and shared configurations are typically available. Confirm exact room types, occupancy and charges with the college.
