Introduction
Nalbari Medical College & Hospital (NMCH) is a government medical college at Dakhingaon, in the Nalbari district of the Lower Assam region of Assam. Its foundation stone was laid in 2019 and it was inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Prime Minister (alongside AIIMS Guwahati and other new Assam colleges). It is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati. It admits 100 MBBS students each year, filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Assam state quota. As a new college, postgraduate programmes may not yet be offered — confirm with the institute. Its attached teaching hospital has about 500 beds.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Nalbari Medical College is entirely through NEET-UG merit. As a government college, seats are filled through two routes: the 15% All India Quota via MCC counselling and the 85% Assam state quota via the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam. There is no management or NRI quota.
The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.

History
Nalbari Medical College & Hospital is a government medical college at Dakhingaon, Nalbari district, Assam. Its foundation stone was laid on 27 January 2019, and it was inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Prime Minister, beginning its academic journey the same year as one of Assam's newly established government medical colleges.
The college started with an MBBS intake of 100 seats (NMC-approved; verify current intake). As a new college it is still developing its departments; confirm any postgraduate offering with the institute.
The attached government teaching hospital has about 500 beds, anchoring clinical training for MBBS students.
Since 2023, Nalbari Medical College has admitted MBBS students in Nalbari district; as a new college it is still graduating its first batches, serving Lower Assam.

Housing
Nalbari Medical College provides on-campus hostel accommodation for its MBBS students, with separate blocks for men and women, located within the campus close to the academic blocks and the teaching hospital, so students can move easily between classes, wards and their rooms.
