Introduction
K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) was established in 1999 and became a constituent college of NITTE (a deemed-to-be-university) in 2009. It is recognised by the National Medical Commission and the Malaysian Medical Council, and was ranked 45th in the NIRF 2021. The institution offers MBBS, MD/MS and MCh programs, along with B.Sc. courses in Medical Imaging Technology and Medical Laboratory, and master's programs in Public Health and Hospital Management.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at KSHEMA (a deemed university) is through NEET-UG followed by MCC counselling for deemed-university seats. All seats — including NRI and general seats — are filled through this process, on merit. Students with a final allotment must report to the campus in person (no proxy allowed) to complete document verification and fee payment.
The student must have completed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

A minimum of approximately 50% marks in PCB subjects is required (category relaxations as per norms).

KS Hegde Medical Academy spreads over approximately 50 acres, with the academic block, residential block and teaching hospital on one campus. Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital has ~1,200 beds, 18 operating theatres, 67 advanced-ICU beds, 12 broad and 15 super specialities, plus cath labs, dialysis units, an IVF unit, a cancer unit, trauma centres, the da Vinci robot and Velys robotic knee technology. Academic labs (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry) have a 1.5T MRI, 128-slice CT and advanced microscopes. Sports facilities include a 400 m athletic turf track, 2 turf football grounds, a cricket pitch, floodlit tennis/badminton/volleyball/throwball courts, indoor games and a ~5,500 sq ft air-conditioned multi-gym. The ~2,512 sq m central library (350 users) holds ~21,412 books and extensive e-resources.

KSHEMA students can apply for institutional, government and trust scholarships; the supplied schemes are:
NITTE may offer limited scholarships to top-performing students who perform exceptionally well in academics.
Central- and state-government merit- and need-based scholarships, including schemes for reserved-category students.
The Sankshema Trust (a NITTE charitable trust) supports deserving students; AIMSET is an exam-based scholarship for first-year students who clear the exam.
Apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), the Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP) or the university's Sankshema Trust welfare board, as applicable.
Submit the required documents (financial statements, recommendation letters, transcripts) with the application within the deadline.
After the committee reviews and approves eligible applications, the amount is credited directly to the student's bank account.
