Introduction
Kokrajhar Medical College & Hospital (KMCH) is a government medical college at Kokrajhar, in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of western Assam. It is the first government medical college in the BTR, inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Prime Minister (foundation stone laid January 2019). It is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati. It admits about 100 MBBS students each year, filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Assam state quota. As a new college, postgraduate programmes may not yet be offered — confirm the current PG position with the institute.
As a government college, MBBS at Kokrajhar Medical College is offered at very low tuition set by the state, with no management or NRI quota — seats are filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Assam state quota. Clinical training runs at the attached Kokrajhar Medical College Hospital, which has 500 beds (including 60 ICU beds) and serves Kokrajhar and the surrounding Bodoland region with an emergency department, OPD and IPD services and the major clinical specialties. As the first government medical college in the BTR, it strengthens healthcare and medical education across western Assam.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Kokrajhar Medical College is entirely through NEET-UG merit. As a government college, seats are filled through two routes: the 15% All India Quota via MCC counselling and the 85% Assam state quota via the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam. There is no management or NRI quota.
The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.

History
Kokrajhar Medical College was inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by the Prime Minister (foundation stone laid January 2019) as the first government medical college in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The college admits about 100 MBBS students annually from 2023-24 (NMC-approved; verify). As a new college it is still developing its departments; confirm any postgraduate offering with the institute.

Housing
Kokrajhar Medical College provides on-campus hostel accommodation for its MBBS students, with separate blocks for men and women, within the campus close to the academic blocks and the teaching hospital, so students can move easily between classes, wards and their rooms.
