How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
Getting into KGMU Lucknow for MBBS is based on NEET-UG. Students have to pass the test and then go through the counselling process. MCC fills the 15% All India Quota seats, while Uttar Pradesh medical counselling fills the rest of the state quota seats.

KGMU's Central Library, with a covered area of 2,945.23 sq. m., houses 44,862 books, 29,876 bound journal volumes, 3,883 print theses, and 1,316 DVD/CDs. It also gives students access to 194 print journals, 4,410 e-journals, and 4,273 e-books, along with additional digital access through DELNET and the ERMED-India Consortium. This gives MBBS students both the physical study space and the academic resources needed for serious medical learning.
There are also dorms, canteens, IT rooms, guest rooms, and student support rooms on campus that make life easier for people who live and study there every day.
KGMU's major strength is that all of the resources students need to train as doctors are in one connected university-hospital setting.
Life as a student at KGMU is hectic, hard, and full of learning. Students do a lot of things outside of class here. Ward postings, OPD exposure, emergency duty, seminars, practical sessions, library hours, and hostel discussions are all things that can be just as valuable as formal lectures. A Vision for Lucknow
KGMU's history goes back more than a century, and that legacy still matters today. The idea of setting up a major medical college in Lucknow began in the late nineteenth century, and the institution started taking shape in the early 1900s.
Foundation & First Sessions (1906–1914)
The foundation of King George's Medical College was laid in 1906, the first academic session began in 1911, and the hospital opened in 1914.
Becoming a University (2002–2003)
Over the years, the institution grew steadily from a medical college into a full medical university. It was granted university status in 2002, and in 2003, the name K.G. Medical University was restored.
