JSS Mysuru

JSS Medical College is a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSSAHER), accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. Started in 1984, it was affiliated with the University of Mysore until 1995 and is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. It has consistently ranked among India's best medical colleges, securing 37th in NIRF 2025 (medical category). The college is known for modern infrastructure, research opportunities, extensive clinical exposure, a standard curriculum, and experienced faculty. Admission Process for MBBS

Admission to MBBS at JSS is through NEET-UG. Qualified students register on the MCC website for counselling under the deemed-university category, complete choice filling (typically in the second round), and seats are allotted by MCC based on cut-off and availability. History Information

Founded in 1984

JSS Medical College, Mysuru, was founded in 1984 and is now a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, established under Section 3 of the UGC Act from 28 May 2008.

Affiliation to RGUHS (1995)

In 1995, the college received affiliation to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (having earlier been affiliated to the University of Mysore).

JSS Hospital's Growth

JSS Hospital started in 1974 as a primary health centre at Ramanuja Road within the JSS institutions complex. In 1986, it was upgraded to a 60-bed teaching hospital for the college.

One of the Region's Largest Hospitals

JSS Hospital was later expanded to about 1,200 beds (now around 1,800), becoming one of the largest health-service providers in the region.
