Government Medical College & Hospital, Purnea (GMCH Purnea) is a new government medical college at Line Bazar, in the Purnea district of the Seemanchal region of Bihar. Established in 2023, it is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Patna. It admits 100 MBBS students each year, filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Bihar state quota (BCECEB/UGMAC). As a new college, postgraduate programmes may not yet be offered. Its attached hospital is a 500-bed multi-specialty district teaching hospital (with 50 ICU beds and 9 modular operation theatres) on a campus of about 24 acres.

Admission Process for MBBS
Admission to MBBS at Government Medical College, Purnea is entirely through NEET-UG merit.
