Academic Excellence

Why Choose Government Medical College, Vizianagaram, for MBBS

GMC Vizianagaram is a young college, so you choose it for what it is: a brand-new NMC-recognised government college with very low fees, a spacious 70-acre campus, built on an established multi-specialty district hospital near Visakhapatnam.

A New NMC-Recognised Government College

GMC Vizianagaram was established in 2023 and approved by the National Medical Commission after inspection, affiliated to Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. Students joining now are among its first cohorts, with new academic facilities being put in place.

Built on a Multi-Specialty District Hospital

Rather than starting clinical training from scratch, the college is anchored in the Government General Hospital (GGH), Vizianagaram, a multi-specialty tertiary-care and referral hospital, so students get clinical exposure at an established centre with steady patient flow.

A Spacious 70-Acre Campus

The college occupies a spacious 70-acre campus with new academic buildings, laboratories, lecture halls and long corridors, purpose-built for the new institution against a scenic hillside backdrop.

Among the Lowest MBBS Fees in India

As a state government college, GMC Vizianagaram charges very low government-quota tuition, a small fraction of what private or deemed colleges charge, making a recognised MBBS genuinely affordable.

Close to Visakhapatnam

Vizianagaram is in north-coastal Andhra Pradesh, close to Visakhapatnam and its international airport, and is itself a major railway junction, giving students strong connectivity.

A Growing Institution

As a 2023-established college, GMC Vizianagaram is steadily adding infrastructure, faculty and facilities; a student joining now is part of building a new institution from its earliest years.
