GMC Rajamahendravaram

Government Medical College (GMC), Rajamahendravaram is one of Andhra Pradesh's new government medical colleges, located in Rajamahendravaram (formerly Rajahmundry) in East Godavari district, on the banks of the Godavari. Sanctioned by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2019 and established in 2023, it was set up in the premises of the District Hospital, which has been upgraded into its teaching hospital. The college is affiliated to Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), with an annual intake of 150 MBBS students. Its attached Government General Hospital has over 500 beds and multiple specialty departments, giving students clinical exposure at an established district referral centre while studying at a brand-new government college.

How to Apply

Admission Process for MBBS

Admission to MBBS at GMC Rajamahendravaram is entirely through NEET-UG merit. Of the 150 seats, 15% fall under the All India Quota, allotted through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and 85% fall under the Andhra Pradesh state quota, counselled by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. State-quota seats follow Andhra Pradesh reservation rules and require local/domicile status.
