Government Medical College (GMC), Nandyal is one of Andhra Pradesh's new government medical colleges, established in 2023 in the Rayalaseema region as part of the state's programme to expand medical education. Located at Noonepalle in Nandyal district (formerly part of Kurnool district), it is spread over a 50-acre campus and is affiliated to Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college admits 150 MBBS students each year and is built around the Government General Hospital (GGH), Nandyal, its teaching hospital. How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
Admission to MBBS at GMC Nandyal is entirely through NEET-UG merit. Of the 150 seats, 15% fall under the All India Quota, allotted through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and 85% fall under the Andhra Pradesh state quota, counselled by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. State-quota seats follow Andhra Pradesh reservation rules and require local/domicile status.
