Introduction
Government Medical College, L.T. Marg, Mumbai, is a new government medical college established in 2024, affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and recognised by the National Medical Commission. It carries forward the legacy of Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital — a government-run free hospital since 1875 — which, along with Cama & Albless Hospital, serves as its teaching ground for clinical training.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at GMC L.T. Marg is through NEET-UG followed by counselling — 85% seats via the Maharashtra State CET Cell and 15% via the MCC All India Quota. Students complete the application, upload documents and fill college/program preferences; allotment is based on preference, NEET rank and availability. Allotted students report to the college within the timeline to confirm the seat. (As supplied, a NEET score of ~670–690+ is suggested to maximise chances.)
The student must have completed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Subjects:
Minimum PCB marks are approximately 50% for the general category, 40% for reserved categories, and 45% for PwD students.

World-Class Campus
GMC L.T. Marg is located on the GT & Cama Hospital campus in South Mumbai — together one of the largest government hospital complexes in the area (~1,500 beds: ~1,021+ in GT with super-specialty services, ~367+ in Cama for women and child care). Special wards include emergency, accident and India's first transgender ward (separate exam/dressing rooms and gender-neutral toilets). As there is no separate college building yet, lectures are held on the top floor of Cama Hospital (spacious, digital-board, air-conditioned halls); the GMC library is on the first floor of GT Hospital (no internet connectivity yet), and anatomy, biochemistry and physiology labs (with ~25 bone sets, anatomy models and one cadaver) are in Cama. Hostels for male and female students and a sports ground between the two hospital buildings complete the campus.
The college is on the GT & Cama Hospital campus in South Mumbai — together one of the largest government hospital complexes in the area (~1,500 beds total).
