GMC Eluru
Government Medical College (GMC), Eluru is one of Andhra Pradesh's new government medical colleges, established in 2023 and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) in May 2023. Located in Eluru, the headquarters of Eluru district (formerly part of West Godavari), it began academic operations from the 2023-24 session with an annual intake of 150 MBBS students. The college is affiliated to Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and is built around the Government General Hospital, Eluru, its teaching hospital. GMC Eluru is part of the Andhra Pradesh government's initiative to set up 17 new medical colleges across the state, adding thousands of MBBS seats and placing a government college within reach of every district.

How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
Admission to MBBS at GMC Eluru is entirely through NEET-UG merit. Of the 150 seats, 15% fall under the All India Quota, allotted through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and 85% fall under the Andhra Pradesh state quota, counselled by Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. State-quota seats follow Andhra Pradesh reservation rules and require local/domicile status.
