The GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (GIMSR) is the medical college of GITAM (Deemed to be University), located on the university's scenic Rushikonda campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2015 and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), it admits 150 MBBS students each year, of which around 127 are management (paid) seats and 23 are NRI seats. As a deemed university, all MBBS seats are filled through the centralised NEET-UG counselling run by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the deemed/paid quota, with no state-quota seats. Its teaching hospital, GIMSR / GITAM Hospital at Rushikonda, is a NABH-accredited facility of more than 700 beds, giving students modern, hands-on clinical training on a coastal campus close to the city.

How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
Admission to MBBS at GIMSR is entirely through NEET-UG merit. As a deemed university, all 150 seats are filled through the centralised counselling run by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the deemed/paid quota, with around 127 management (paid) seats and 23 NRI seats. There is no state-quota or domicile requirement. Candidates register with MCC, fill choices, and are allotted seats on NEET-UG rank, then report to the college.

The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.
