Academic Excellence

Why Choose GEMS, Srikakulam, for MBBS

GEMS is an established private college with its own teaching hospital in a region with limited medical-college options. You choose it for over a decade of operation, a 300-plus-bed hospital, postgraduate programmes across 19 departments, and an affordable convener-quota route.

An Established Private College Since 2010

Founded in 2010 by the Aditya Educational Society, GEMS has trained MBBS doctors for over a decade, with settled departments, experienced faculty and a growing alumni base, unlike the many brand-new colleges opening across the region.

A 300-Plus-Bed Teaching Hospital

Clinical training is at the attached GEMS Hospital, a 300-plus-bed teaching hospital serving the north-coastal region, with a 24-hour emergency service department and the major clinical departments, giving students hands-on exposure across the clinical years.

Postgraduate Programmes Across 19 Departments

GEMS runs postgraduate MD and MS programmes across 19 departments alongside MBBS, so undergraduate students learn in an environment with resident doctors and a broad range of specialties on the wards.

An Affordable Convener-Quota Route

For students who secure a convener (state) seat through NEET and Dr. NTR / Dr. YSR UHS counselling, the tuition is very low at around ₹16,500 per year, one of the most affordable routes to a private MBBS in the state.

Serving the North-Coastal Region

Ragolu near Srikakulam is in north-coastal Andhra Pradesh, a region with relatively few medical colleges. GEMS and its hospital bring both a medical college and a sizeable teaching hospital to this part of the state.

A Self-Contained Campus

The 25-acre campus, with a large built-up area, houses the academic blocks, laboratories, lecture halls, a library, the hospital, and hostels, giving students a self-contained environment.

GEMS students can access central and Andhra Pradesh government scholarships, especially relevant for convener-quota students; the verified routes are the standard government schemes below. No GEMS-specific scholarship has been invented here:

  • Andhra Pradesh Fee Reimbursement Schemes

The Government of Andhra Pradesh operates fee-reimbursement and maintenance schemes for eligible students from economically weaker, SC, ST, BC and minority families in professional courses; these are most relevant to convener-quota students. Eligibility and the current scheme should be confirmed with the AP authorities and the college.

  • Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC), Government of India

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (SC/OBC) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (ST) fund Post-Matric Scholarships for professional courses including MBBS, covering fees and a maintenance allowance, via the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).

  • Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships (CSSS)

Administered by the Ministry of Education via the National Scholarship Portal, CSSS supports meritorious students from families below a defined income threshold who qualify in the top percentile of their Class 12 board, providing an annual maintenance allowance renewable on performance.
