Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, was established in 1996 and is part of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (a Deemed-to-be-University) in Pune. It started postgraduate degree and diploma courses in 2003 and ranked 12th among medical colleges in India in the NIRF Rankings 2025. How to Apply

Admission Process for MBBS

Admission to MBBS at DY Patil Pune (a deemed university) is through NEET-UG followed by MCC counselling for the deemed-college category. Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and foreign nationals are eligible, with seats across the general (management) and NRI quotas. Students fill and lock DY Patil Pune in choice filling; seats are allotted on NEET rank and availability, after which students report with the final allotment letter to submit documents and complete the fee process.

The hospital is a five-floor building with a 350-seat gallery; the academic building is organised floor-wise across pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical departments. There are 3 examination halls (~250 each), 5 lecture halls (~300 each) with AV aids, and two auditoriums (1,000 and 275 seats). Departmental facilities include air-conditioned dissection halls, museums and labs; the hospital (2,000+ beds, 57 specialities, 175+ critical-care beds, 30+ OTs) has CT, 3T MRI, mammography and more. The ~5,000 sq m central library holds ~44,341 books with separate UG/PG/staff reading rooms, plus a full sports ground and gymnasium.
