Introduction
Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh is a government medical college in Dibrugarh, in the Upper Assam region of Assam. Established in 1947, it is one of the oldest and largest medical colleges in the North-East. It is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati. It admits 200 MBBS students each year, filled purely on NEET-UG merit through the 15% All India Quota (MCC) and the 85% Assam state quota, and also runs postgraduate MD/MS programmes across about 20 departments (around 176 PG seats) and DM/MCh super-specialty courses in a few branches.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Assam Medical College is entirely through NEET-UG merit. As a government college, seats are filled through two routes: the 15% All India Quota via MCC counselling and the 85% Assam state quota via the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam. There is no management or NRI quota.
The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.
Subjects:
Minimum qualifying-exam marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together: 50% for General/EWS, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for PwBD candidates (per NEET-UG norms).

Assam Medical College was established in 1947 at Dibrugarh, making it one of the oldest medical colleges in eastern India and the North-East, set up to serve Upper Assam and the surrounding region.

Housing
Assam Medical College provides separate on-campus hostel accommodation for men and women (and interns and PG residents), within the campus close to the academic blocks and the teaching hospital, so students can move easily between classes, wards and their rooms.
Resident students are housed in furnished hostel rooms with beds, study tables, storage and study facilities; single, twin and shared configurations are typically available. Confirm exact room types, occupancy and charges with the college.
