History
Introduction
The Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR), Chittoor is a private medical college in Andhra Pradesh, promoted by the Apollo group and established in 2015 within the Apollo Knowledge & Health City at Chittoor. It is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Dr. NTR / Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, and admits 150 MBBS students each year. The college sits on a modern campus of about 108 acres and trains students at an attached teaching hospital of roughly 850 beds. Its main draw is the Apollo connection: the brand, clinical systems and the wider Apollo Hospitals network give students a structured, industry-linked clinical environment, which is why AIMSR is among the more sought-after private medical colleges in the region.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at Apollo IMSR is entirely through NEET-UG merit, with counselling conducted by Dr. NTR / Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences for Andhra Pradesh. Seats are filled across three quotas: the state (convener) quota at lower fees with domicile rules, the management quota (categories B1 and B2) at higher fees, and the NRI quota (category C) with a course lump-sum. Candidates apply through the state counselling process and choose AIMSR on NEET-UG rank, subject to the quota and category rules.
The student must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects, from a recognised board.
Subjects:
Minimum qualifying-exam marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together: 50% for General/EWS, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for PwBD candidates (per NEET-UG norms).
| Category | Minimum PCB % |
|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50% |
| OBC / SC / ST | 40% |
| PwBD | 45% |
The student must be at least 17 years old as on 31 December of the year of admission.
The student must have qualified NEET-UG in the same year, meeting the category percentile cut-off. State-quota seats require Andhra Pradesh local/domicile status; management and NRI quotas have broader eligibility and their own documentation.

Scholarship & Financial
Apollo IMSR students may access central and Andhra Pradesh government scholarships, most relevant to state-quota students; the verified routes are the standard government schemes below. No Apollo IMSR-specific scholarship has been invented here:
The Government of Andhra Pradesh operates fee-reimbursement and maintenance schemes for eligible students from economically weaker, SC, ST, BC and minority families in professional courses; these are most relevant to state-quota students. Eligibility and the current scheme should be confirmed with the AP authorities and the college.
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (SC/OBC) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (ST) fund Post-Matric Scholarships for professional courses including MBBS, covering fees and a maintenance allowance, via the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).
Administered by the Ministry of Education via the National Scholarship Portal, CSSS supports meritorious students from families below a defined income threshold who qualify in the top percentile of their Class 12 board, providing an annual maintenance allowance renewable on performance.
Apply for government scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal and the Andhra Pradesh scholarship portal; the AIMSR office can advise on documentation, particularly for state-quota students.
Verify eligibility, income and category-certificate requirements and deadlines, and submit documents before the window closes.
After review, eligible students receive the scholarship amount directly in their bank account.
