Introduction
AIIMS Kalyani is a public hospital and medical school in Saguna, Kalyani, West Bengal, established in 2019 as an Institute of National Importance under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. It started with 50 MBBS students (now 125 annually) and offers doctoral, postgraduate medical & dental, super-specialty, nursing and allied-health programs, with about 34 specialised hospital departments.

How to Apply
Admission to MBBS at AIIMS Kalyani (~125 seats) is through NEET-UG followed by MCC All India Quota counselling. Students register, complete choice filling and seat allotment on NEET rank, availability and reservation policy. Students with final allotment report to the institute in person to complete fee deposit and document verification.
The student must have completed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Subjects:
Minimum PCB marks are approximately 60% for General/EWS/OBC, 50% for SC/ST, and 45% for PwD candidates (as supplied).

AIIMS Kalyani spreads over ~179.82 acres in Saguna, divided into institutional, residential and service zones (10 institutional and 16 residential buildings). The ~22,574 sq m hospital block (near the main entrance) has ~960 inpatient beds, 40 OPD, 30 AYUSH and 18 ICU beds; the AYUSH block, a liquid-oxygen plant and the Dharamshala canteen sit to the west. American-style, fully-air-conditioned classrooms and department labs (anatomy histology/osteology/dissection/museum; physiology haematology & clinical rooms; biochemistry labs) support teaching. The three-storey central library (~250 capacity, 45 computers) holds ~800 books plus rich e-resources; there is a 250-seat indoor auditorium, parking for ~2,999 cars, and a bank/ATM on campus.

The idea of an AIIMS-like institute in West Bengal dates back to a proposal to upgrade SSKM Hospital (declined in 1957); momentum returned when a foundation stone was laid at Kalyani in 1994.
