All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Deoghar, was started in 2019 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana and is an Institute of National Importance run under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Established to correct regional imbalances in affordable, reliable tertiary healthcare, it offers MBBS, nursing programmes, an integrated public-health programme and postgraduate programmes across various specialties.

How to Apply
Admission Process for MBBS
Admission to MBBS at AIIMS Deoghar (~125 seats) is through NEET-UG followed by MCC All India Quota counselling. The multi-storey, centrally-air-conditioned academic block has 2 large lecture halls, a conference hall and departmental laboratories (anatomy dissection hall with embalming area; histology lab with 60 microscopes; simulation labs under development). AIIMS Deoghar Hospital has ~750 beds with a trauma centre, ~20 specialty/super-specialty departments, 15 OTs and a 30-bed AYUSH department, plus CT, MRI, X-ray, path labs, telemedicine and a blood bank. The central library (inaugurated 2025) holds 5,000+ resources with ~7 reading rooms and an e-library. There are cricket and football grounds, four residential hostels with attached mess and gym, and two mini-banks/ATMs on campus.
