How to Apply
Admission to the English-taught MD at Niš is by academic record and an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry (in English), and Indian students must have a qualifying NEET-UG score. English-programme places can be limited, so apply early through the Faculty's official admissions route (medfak.ni.ac.rs).
Applicants must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, and Indian applicants must have a qualifying NEET-UG score, which is also required for later Indian licensing.
The English MD requires an entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry (in English), alongside the Class 12 record. Prepare for this; the exact format is published on the official admissions page.
Apply through the Faculty's official admissions route (medfak.ni.ac.rs) with academic documents and passport; English-programme places can be limited, so apply early.
Successful applicants receive an admission/enrolment letter, and Indian students obtain the NMC Eligibility Certificate now expected before starting an MBBS/MD abroad.
Students apply for the Serbian student visa/temporary residence and pay tuition; banking and payment from India are straightforward (Serbia is not sanctioned).
Students enrol at the start of the academic year and complete arrival formalities in Niš.
Applicants must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The general requirement is a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (with the standard relaxation to 40% for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories), in line with the National Medical Commission's eligibility norms for studying MBBS/MD abroad.

Applicants must have completed, or will complete, 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the year of admission, in line with the National Medical Commission's rules for MBBS.
Indian applicants need Class 12 with PCB, a qualifying NEET-UG score and NEET certificate, an NMC Eligibility Certificate, a valid passport and the supporting documents, plus preparation for the Faculty's Biology-and-Chemistry entrance exam.

Programme Structure
Niš's Medicine programme is a six-year (360 ECTS) integrated MD taught in English for international students: the first two years cover pre-clinical subjects, the next three the clinical subjects, and the final year is an internship year, with clinical training at the Clinical Centre of Niš. The exact structure and licensing steps matter for Indian licensing.

Clinical training takes place at the Clinical Centre of Niš and other Niš hospitals and institutes. For Indian students, a further internship in India is required for Indian registration (see the FMGE & NExT (Deferred) section). An indicative pattern is:

Faculty & Leadership
The Faculty's identity is its six decades of medical teaching in southern Serbia and its clinical base at the Clinical Centre of Niš, rather than a list of famous graduates.
Founded on 18 May 1960 to train doctors for Niš and southern Serbia, the Faculty is one of the founding faculties of the University of Niš and today teaches an English-taught integrated MD (360 ECTS) to international students.
Teaching is delivered by the Faculty's departments together with the Clinical Centre of Niš, one of Serbia's largest hospital complexes, giving students clinical exposure in a regional medical hub.

Niš has a growing vegetarian and international food scene; while Serbian cuisine is meat-heavy, breads, dairy, salads, grains and vegetable dishes are widely available.
Niš is famous in Serbia for its grilled food and lively food scene; there is plenty of bakery, fresh produce from the markets and affordable eating out.
Supermarkets and some international/Indian grocery stores stock produce, spices and Indian items, so students can cook their own food.

Practising in India
An Indian graduate of the University of Niš Faculty of Medicine who wants to practise in India follows the licensing pathway set by the National Medical Commission (NMC): qualifying NEET before starting, completing a course and internship that meet the NMC's conditions, clearing the NMC screening examination (the FMGE; NExT is deferred and not yet in force), completing the required internship in India and registering with the medical council. The NMC does not “approve” individual foreign universities; it sets conditions, and the Serbian MD structure should be checked against them.
Step 1
An Indian student must have qualified NEET-UG before beginning the course abroad to be eligible later for Indian licensing. A qualifying NEET score is required, and an NMC Eligibility Certificate is now expected before starting.
Step 2
The Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 require the course and internship to meet the NMC's minimum duration (about 54 months of study plus a 12-month internship), completed in the same institution, taught in English, with a degree that entitles the holder to practise in the country of study. Because Niš awards a six-year integrated MD with a final internship year (and Serbia has its own state-licensing steps), how these conditions are met depends on that structure.
Step 3
Graduates must clear the qualifying examination for foreign medical graduates, currently the FMGE (the National Exit Test, NExT, is deferred and not yet in force), then complete the required internship in India and register with the National Medical Commission or a State Medical Council.

Niš is the most affordable of the three Serbian medical faculties, so realistic financial planning across the whole six-year course matters; banking and payment from India are straightforward as Serbia is not sanctioned.
International students pay EUR 6,000 a year, about EUR 36,000 over six years, the lowest total of Serbia's three medical faculties. With Niš living costs the realistic all-in is roughly ₹62–83 lakh across the course: higher than Russia or Kazakhstan, but the cheapest Serbian option and far below Western-European or UK medical degrees.
