New Vision University (NVU)

New Vision University (NVU) is a private, non-profit university in Tbilisi, Georgia, founded in 2013. Despite being young, it has become one of the fastest-growing medical universities in the country and is notable as the only medical university in Georgia with its own hospital, giving students hands-on clinical exposure on campus. NVU teaches medicine in English, and international students, from more than 25 countries, make up about three-quarters of its student body, including a large Indian community. The MD (Medicine) programme is a six-year, full-time degree taught entirely in English and equivalent to an MBBS, covering pre-clinical and clinical study plus an internship. Admission is merit-based, by evaluation of academic records and English proficiency, rather than a national exam, though Indian students still need to qualify NEET to obtain the eligibility certificate the National Medical Commission (NMC) requires for studying MBBS abroad and for licensing later. The degree is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, recognised by the World Federation for Medical Education through Georgia's WFME-recognised agency (NCEQE), and recognised by the NMC, WHO and ECFMG.

NVU is a fast-growing private university, WFME-recognised through Georgia's NCEQE, listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, a member of the European University Association, and recognised by the NMC of India, the WHO and the ECFMG.

Tbilisi has a large Indian student community, so Indian and vegetarian food is widely available alongside affordable canteens, grocery stores and easy self-catering.

Being an MBBS student at NVU is a mix of intensive academics and life in Tbilisi, a safe, affordable and scenic capital with one of the largest and most diverse international student communities in Georgia.

NVU and the Georgian state offer a small number of scholarship and merit routes, though most international students self-fund the programme, helped by relatively low tuition and living costs.
