The city of Bratislava

The Danube flows through the heart of the city, creating an idyllic and calming atmosphere at any time of day. Whether jogging, sitting on the banks or taking a walk, the Danube with its promenade offers Comenius University Bratislava students an opportunity to relax in the fresh air at any time of the year.
The breathtaking "Pressburg", the landmark of the city of Bratislava and Slovakia, rises on a hill in the middle of the old town. From the castle you can enjoy a great view over the city, surrounding outskirts and the Danube crossing it with the river promenade.

With around 20,000 students, Bratislava has everything a student city should have: inexpensive pubs, restaurants, bars, often even with student discounts, offer an opportunity to spend free time alongside everyday university life. Compared to Austria and Germany, the cost of living is somewhat cheaper and experience shows that around 32,000-40,000₹/month excluding rent is enough for our students to live on.

As already mentioned, Bratislava is located right on the Austrian border, only 5 minutes away by car. Buses and trains running several times a day shuttle cheaply between the Slovak capital and the Austrian capital Vienna with a journey time of just under an hour - a bus ticket to Vienna, for example, costs around €7.

Study in Bratislava

Comenius University and Bratislava have enjoyed an increasing number of German-speaking students in recent years, and for good reason! Probably the biggest advantage, apart from the excellent teaching programme of the university itself, is the location of Bratislava. The capital is centrally located in the heart of Europe and is less than an hour's drive from the Austrian capital Vienna and the international airport Vienna - Schwechat.

With excellent bus and train connections to Vienna Airport and the capital itself, students are always ideally connected to their home. In addition, the city is very international and lively with students from all over the world, which is reflected in an exciting student life!
