Medical studies in human medicine in Lodz
The degree programme in human medicine is a six-year course (12 semesters) that ends with the degree of "Medical Doctor".
The aim of the programme is to prepare future generations for work as doctors by teaching basic theories and principles of medical practice, natural sciences, communication skills and working with patients.
The curriculum includes pre-clinical subjects (e.g. anatomy, physiology, histology, genetics, microbiology, pharmacology), which are mainly taught in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, and clinical subjects (e.g. internal diseases, surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, gynaecology and obstetrics, infectious diseases), which are taught in the 4th, 5th and 6th year. Computer Science and Biostatistics, Social Sciences (including Academic Professionalism), Humanities and English are also part of mbbs in poland medical university lodz. Students can choose from a variety of elective courses to broaden their knowledge and further their interests.
Practical skills are acquired during clinical traineeships in the summer holidays at the university, among other things.
Graduates in human medicine have the knowledge and practical skills in the areas of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation required to work as a doctor. After graduation, they can enrol for a postgraduate internship. After completing this, they take the state examination for doctors. Studying dentistry is a five-year higher education programme (10 semesters) that ends with the degree "Doctor of Dental Medicine".

Oral surgery, oral surgery, endodontics, gerodontology, orthodontics, oral pathology, periodontology and oral mucosal diseases, prosthetics, dental radiology, conservative dentistry, paediatric dentistry) as well as legal and organisational principles of medicine (e.g. dental ethics, medical certification, medical law and management in dentistry).

Dentistry graduates have relevant knowledge and practical skills that enable them to
diagnose the most common diseases and assess the somatic condition of a patient,

communicate effectively with patients and their families and conduct research for the society,
have the necessary competences to supervise a dental team,
to act in accordance with the acquired clinical knowledge and in compliance with humanitarian principles.
Dentistry graduates can work not only in public and private healthcare facilities, but also in research facilities, development centres and institutions that deal with health promotion. After obtaining the necessary licences, they can also open their own dental practice or form strategic partnerships with other established dentists and hospitals.
University of Łódź: The application procedure
To start your medical studies at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, you have to overcome an important hurdle: successfully passing the entrance exam after completing your higher education. The exam is an oral online exam via the MS Teams platform and takes about 30 minutes for students.
Examination content:
General questions about your motivation and potential for professional behaviour as well as socio-medical issues.
Specialised questions from two of the following four subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics. These questions can be both descriptive and multiple-choice questions with one correct answer.
If you need support with your preparation, students can participate in video courses that convey the learning content of the required subjects in a didactic and understandable way. There are also test simulations to check your preparation and identify any need for further support. You will receive further information on the admission procedure from our student advisors in a personal student counselling session.
