Limitations of Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati

Apart from the college advantages, it also has some limitations, which should be considered before making any final call. NEET is a highly competitive exam, and securing a rank is quite tough. Seats are limited in the national and state government medical colleges, especially for their super-speciality programs. The practical learning takes place in a very overly crowded hospital, which has a high patient flow in the hospital, and dealing with such a high number interrupts the personalised learning experience.

Some of the departments are ageing and require urgent care, some academic buildings are lacking modern upgradations, which is also a significant concern. Being a state-level medical college, the opportunity for getting a global exposure is limited in comparison to the national-level medical colleges. Hostels of the college are another factor that may change your mind, as the seats are not available for many students, and also the hostels are not well developed in terms of amenities. All these limitations are there with the college.
