National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET-SS) is an eligibility-cum-entrance examination mandated as the sole entrance examination for admission to various Doctor of Medicine, Master of Chirurgiae, Doctorate of National Board (DM/MCh and DrNB) Super Specialty courses, in accordance with Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. NEET SS 2024 exam important dates

The NEET SS 2024 exam dates were announced by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the exam conducting authority on September 13, 2024. How to fill application form of NEET SS 2025

• Candidates will have to register first to access the NEET SS followed by filling application form. candidates will be provided with a registration ID and password with which they will have to log in to fill in details in the application form.

• They have to fill out the application form by entering personal, academic, and professional details.

• Upload scanned copies of the required documents.

• Select the preferred exam city from the list provided.

• Payment of Application Fee:

  • General/OBC candidates: ₹4,250

  • SC/ST/PwD candidates: ₹3,250.

• Preview and Submit.

• Candidates will be able to download the application form for future reference.

Can I change my details once the application form is submitted?

Yes, if you find errors after submission, you can utilize the correction window provided by NBEMS. But remember only specific details can be edited during this period, as specified by the authorities.

Eligibility criteria for NEET SS exam 2025

To appear for exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Candidates must possess a post graduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) or a provisional pass certificate in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

• The qualifying degree must be completed on or before the cutoff date specified by NBEMS.

• Applicants should have a valid registration certificate issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC), State Medical Council (SMC), or an equivalent body.

Eligibility for foreign nationals:

• Candidates must have completed their postgraduate degree in a specialty that corresponds to the super specialty course they are applying for.

• Those who are pursuing their final year of MD/MS/DNB and are likely to complete their degree by the cutoff date are also eligible to apply.

Cutoff for NEET SS exam

Initial Cutoff Criteria:

Initially, the qualifying criterion was set at the 50th percentile across all specialty groups. This means candidates needed to score at or above this percentile to be eligible for admission

Revised Cutoff Scores:

In February 2023, NBEMS announced a reduction in the qualifying percentile from the 50th to the 20th percentile for all specialty groups. This adjustment aimed to fill vacant seats and accommodate more candidates

Counselling process of NEET SS exam

NEET SS 2024 counselling , is expected to be conducted from May 2025 onwards, by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates who have qualified by securing the cutoff marks will be eligible to participate in the NEET SS 2024 counselling rounds for dm/mch courses. The number of rounds varies on the factors like the seat vacancies, and other external factors such as revision of NEET SS cutoff , change in seat matrix, etc.

• Registration & application process

  To begin the application process, candidates have to pay non-refundable registration fee of INR 5,000. They also have to deposit a security money of INR 2,00,000 which will be adjusted against the academic fees later for those who will be allotted a seat in counselling and will be refunded to those who will not be allotted seats or those who want to exit counselling process.

• Choice-filling
  Candidates have to choices for courses and colleges on official portal of MCC. Remember there is no limit to the number of choices one can fill in the preference form and choices filled can also be modified multiple times.

• Seat allotment
  The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will generate the seat allotment list for various specialties based on the 2024 merit list and the preferences submitted online by candidates. A separate seat allotment list will be created for each specialty.

• Candidate will have to choose from the following one option:

  1. Accept the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process.

  2. Accept the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round.

  3. Refuse the seat allotted, but choose to participate in the next round.

  4. Refuse the seat allotted and exit from the counselling process.

• Reporting to Allotted Institution:

  Candidates will have to download the provisional allotment letter and report to the assigned institution within the specified period.

Seat matrix is a table that shows the number of available seats in medical and dental colleges in India. MCC will publish the NEET SS 2024 seat matrix for each round on its official website. Separate seat matrices will be provided for DM/MCh and DNB courses.
